Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party!

Post by missynole » Aug Wed 05, 2009 10:37 am

Hey Guys - I'm so excited. I just ordered my families Very Merry Christmas Party Tickets from WDW and I can't wait. They said I can pick them up ahead of time at a Guest Services window at any park. Anyone have any thoughts on the "easiest" park to pick them up at? I'm going down in September for a quick weekend and would like to get them then. Any thoughts on this party would be great, too!
Thanks.

We ordered ours but they couldn't mail them because we are AP and haven't actived our APs yet for this year. But be sure you don't miss the lighting of the castle, it's to swoon for it's so breath-taking.

If you want to see the show, I think they do it every year, Mickey's Night Before Christmas, make haste after the castle lighting because it fills up fast. And it's so worth the effort.

And allow time to stand in line to buy your souvenir items, pins, blankets, throws, furries, etc ... last year we were in line for a long time, lots of people wanting lots of things.

And could someone address the fireworks. What is the best, or at least a good location for enjoying them?

My wife and I like to stand on Main Street in front of the Bakery. You get a great view and the smell of cookies! Not to mention nearby snacks!

As for the park to pick the passes up at...maybe whatever is closest to where you are staying? Epocot and HS (still wanna call it MGM) may have shorter lines.

MVMCP is awesome!!! We've been 3x's! Be sure to see the parade and enjoy the snow on Main St. The hot chocolate and cookies are fun! The second parade is generally less crowded than the first. My recommendation would be to see the fireworks near the castle, this way you can get the full effect of the "Surround" fireworks!

The first time we went picked our tickets up at our resort and last year we had them mailed to us.

I loved MVMCP! The fireworks and parade are must-sees and the shows are awesoeme as well. Try and focus on the things that you wouldn't see during normal park hours. The lines for the rides are generally less-crowded, but that's not really what the party is really about, in my opinion.

I have only used guest services at Epcot and MK. MK seemed to be busier but it was earlier in the day the times I used it....

I've done this twice, and both times I went to MK guest services to get them. Another thing, You can get into the park much earlier than you tihnk, im pretty sure its 4. This way you still get 8 hours, and once they start kicking the non partiers out, lines are very small.

Good point yodiwan, you can get in at 4 for the Christmas party! We didn't know this until our visit last Nov. We took advantage and got a ton in that night! In my opinion, if you're staying on property and are going to the Christmas party that evening, don't waste a park ticket during the day, just wait until 4 and go to MK. :)

I went to the party in '04, it was one of the early ones and they were actually selling tickets on the day of...but we ordered ahead of time. Anyways, you definately need to watch the parade, if they still show the parade twice take advantage of the 2nd showing, I think its @ 11pm. We also practically walked on to all the rides too. I can't comment on the fireworks as in '04, they had previews for wishes instead of holiday fireworks.

For those interested in this, I just got an e-mail that Disney is offering now Florida resident discounted tickets for this event on select nights in December 2009: Tues Dec 1, Thurs Dec 3, Sun Dec 6, Tues Dec 8, Thurs Dec 10, Sun Dec 13, and Tues Dec 15. None of the Fridays are available for Florida Resident Discount, and neither are the two final dates of Dec 17 and 18. I like how I got the e-mail at 6:48 PM on Monday Nov 30 - hmmmmmmm, was this a last-minute decision or what?!?  :mickey:

Oh yes, it doesn't tell what the discounted price is, but you can call 1-407-W-DISNEY to find out...
