Soarin over WDW I think would be interesting, you'd get to see the parks in a different light. They could get you flying over main street and they could have smells like the Main Street Bakery? They could edit it so you wouldn't see any backstage areas (we know disney wouldn't want you to see those). I'd like to see Soarin' Over America I think that would be fun.

Hmmm, while I like the idea of an option, anything that might make the wait at Soarin' longer is not good.Soarin08 wrote:Easy- there are two theaters. One keeps the current version.
The other is Soarin' Over the World.
At the point where you hand over Fastpasses, etc., you are asked which theater you want first. You watch one film then get to come back later (given a FP or something) and watch the other.
I agree with other posters about a Soarin' over America. They could hit spots like the Grand Canyon, Rocky Mountains, maybe some Glaciers in Alaska and a Volcano in Hawaii (with the Alexandria Burning scent from Spaceship Earth of course!)...it would be awesome.

Thing is, they can change the film but would not have to change the Patrick Warbutton pre-show film. It does not mention "over california" in it. I agree with some other posts: soarin' over some of the great natural wonders of the world: grand canyon, kalahari, Swiss Alps, etc. It is the LAND Pavillion, so it would make it a better fit with the over-all pavillion theme.

The day we visited Stonehenge, in England, the weather turned wild just as we arrived. Umbrellas were inside out, the wind tore jackets open, and then, just as it came, it left. I think the "spirits" were visiting that day!
I would like to soar over Kenya/Tanzania and experience the crossing, and the herds traveling, set to wonderful African rhythms.

That works!!WVParkfan wrote:Best idea so far!Captain Schnemo wrote:They could easily create a selection of different films, so the ride is different every time.
Another idea might be to keep the same layout and seating, but have guests wear a sort of virtual reality gloggles that allow them to each pick their own experience... see what I'm saying?
Just keep that soundtrack!!! And the queue loop!

Did you WDW ZOMBIE land resort?imaginationcelebration wrote:How about "Soarin' Over All Those Things You're Not Supposed To Notice"? A modern day tour of the unfinished, left behind, and out of place structures. Yeah, I just got done looking at the "Unofficial Guide" thread.

I'd have to say, although I do like the music very much, it would need to be altered if there was a "Soarin' Around the World" twist in place. So much of the experience of seeing other areas of the world has to do with the sounds and music, that it can't be missed.
The perfect example is the concept that Walt himself put in place - everywhere in WDW (especially World Showcase) has its own, unique music for creating a full feeling of the area.
That being said, Disney has traditionally been very good at creating a "theme and variations" on any melody. So I'd propose a culture-based variation on the Soarin' music, which would change each time the scenery shown in the movie changed.

SOARIN' OVER WALT DISNEY WORLD!!!!!
Its big enough and diverse enough to experience and see exciting things.
I actually talked to a Cast Member at WDW recently and they said that Disney is working on changing Soarn' to something different.

Do you think have enough time to go the bathroom before the next show?
