Disney is REALLY good at that, making people cry that is. I can remember seeing relatives that never cry when they get injured but will cry at a Disney movie. It is all that Music and imagery. Sad faces and sad music will get anyone.Nicc513 wrote:Dumbo - I still get kinda weepy when I even *think* of the song "Baby Mine."

I agree so much. I always end up getting teary-eyed or a bit weepy over old classic Disney movies. They know how to pull at the heart strings and the emotions.Dr. Ravenscroft wrote:Disney is REALLY good at that, making people cry that is. There have been a few Disney cartoon movies where I have had "something in my eyes" during different scenes. Yea the scene in Dumbo with Jumbo is one of them.elizabethswann wrote:I agree so much. I think it is because they have to show that you (the character) has lost everything and now they are starting from scratch. And most movies, books, stories, etc have a graph that they follow. The story start out rises to a small climax, then it dives to the lowest point, and then gradually rises to largest climax, then it levels off and finishes. This is the way almost every great book, movie, short story, etc has been written for years.boilerbabe wrote:Why is it that in most of the Disney films, the mom dies or they have to kill the parent?! It's so sad!!! You have to cry! What other choice do you have?!

Well, that makes me the only other vote for Robin Hood. I was kind of surprised at only 2 votes, but I did see some close-calls and ties in other replies. Definitely my favorite of the list.Chicery wrote:It would have to be Robin Hood.
I loved the "sketchy" quality of the animation... You don't see that anymore. Traditional line-art and paint got cleaner and cleaner, computers got involved, and now every animated movie that comes out feels like human hands never touched it. That's the biggest reason, though I suppose it's really the characters and the music (:!:) that brought Robin Hood out ahead of The Sword in the Stone for me.
