Personally I find the new tiki annoying and unoriginal. The original had a musical aspect to it and the new one is suppose to be funny, which I don't find it to be. This coming from a frequent dl visitor and I only visited WDW once, so I prefer almost everything at DL over WDW.

I was watching the Aladdin Musical at DCA, and the Genie called Iago, 'a Tiki Room reject'- if only!

I have never been crazy about the Tiki room, but on really hot days, it is a great escape into the cool. YOu can't help but hear their songs in your head over and over once you leave the place.

I really couldn't tell you. I personally found it distracting and embarassing.

It was painful to watch the show when I went to see it. Iago does not belong there. :x

It's one of the attractions I avoid now.

No doubt they will. But I just cringe when someone says something is old and needs to be updated for the sake of updating.

Ya know, if the Tiki gods didn't like it, it would have flamed out by now!

I understand that they wanted to update it but throwing Iago and Zazu into it just didn't work. It came across as very annoying. Too much of Gilbert Godfried can kill you... like it killed this attraction.

Heh, I actually like it... it's a change of pace from the original. If everything at WDW were the same as it was at DL, why would you ever visit the park furthest from you? I enjoy both versions, myself (though, yes, I prefer the original).

I like the preshow at ETRUNM, with the late great Phil Hartman voicing Zazu's talent agent. I love his voice.

I think they should bring back the original Tiki Room for the 40th anniversary in 2011. That and the Main Street Electrical Parade would be nice touches for the big 4-0.

the only memories I have of the Tiki room is the one under new management. that was the trip we took for graduation back in 1999. Before that, the last time we went was when I was about 6, so I don't remember the original there. Although I'd love to see it for the anniverssary or something.

I like the new version. IIRC, the audio on the old was of such poor quality.

Well, they re-did the audio track for the DL version... which is the same show as the "old" WDW version (i.e., the original Tiki Room)... and it sounds magnificent! They updated the audioanimatronics too... the beaks don't make that "clacking" noise as much as they used to.

The new room sucks and has horrible music, but the worst thing about it is that it has no respect for the original Tiki Room. They actually make fun of it. May that untalented hack Eisner burn in Hell. Not that I'm bitter or anything.
On the surface there is hunger and fear. Men still exercise unjust laws. They fight, tear one another to pieces. A mere few feet beneath the waves their reign ceases, their evil drowns. Here on the ocean floor is the only independence.
