Cool, that someone has heard of the program. It's a huge thing. I mean, Disney needs all the suc..I mean interns they can get. And it's true, that the program's classes are geared toward management and business. Go see thise Debby already!
It's hot hot hot. I'm kinda really glad that I won't be here for the summer. I don't think I can take the humidity and suddent downpours.
Well Jedi training camp is well underway. We have so many padowans walking around now. I love how the Jedi teacher tells the trainees the rules of being a Jedi which include using their powers for knowledge and good etc.. Then when Darth Vader comes out, it's like "shoot to kill", lol. Those kids are so cute in their training robes. I just have to laugh everytime I walk by. "The left shoulder, now the right! Duck! The right leg!"
Well next week is supposed to be really crazy crowded. All of us are working six days. So after thurs, my next day off is next saturday. Well, that's what they think. See, many weeks ago, I submitted a request for time off. Within a day or two, the request was approved and complete. I kept checking back to make sure. It was until I checked the schedule, which read that I'm working each day I specifically requested off. So I go back to the online form I filled out, and the form now says, "deny". On the form is also an apology from another scheduler basically saying "oops, our bad, sorry!" Imagine my reaction to that!
I talked to the manager about it, and she said she would talk to the scheduler to see what happened. Well basically it's Spring Break week, so no one gets these days off. So now, I have to work each day that my friends are here to visit me. I looked at my co-workers schedules and they all have to work pretty long shifts as well. I'm waiting on one co-worker to see if I can get her early shift.
But if that doesn't work out, then I really have no choice but to call in sick or use a personal day(or two_. I have one more month left here at WDW. I don't have a reprimand yet, but after next week is over, I'll probably have one, but less than two. Or even two. And if I have two reprimands, that means I'm not in good standing with Disney, and it would be hard for me to come back and work here. Hopefully this won't come back and kick me in the behind one day in the future.
But really, I want to see my friends and spend time with them, not just for them to say "hi" to me while I'm sweeping the streets or cleaning restrooms. So yeah, thank you Disney!
And here's one thing I gotta complain about. People being lazy. My area has so many slackers it's really sad. We have two old guys who disappear and take frequent cigarette breaks. We have one person who will only appear to do a trash run, then disappear again. We have an old-timer who's been here for such a long time that he thinks he can do whatever he wants anytime he wants. He'll come in during a track talk, while the manager is talking and just start blabbing about something no one cares about. Then we have this one lady who is just plain weird and yeah- she's weird:P It just urks me how these people can do hardly anything and get away with it pretty much all the time.
Today even, two full-timers who know the system very well, neglected their duties. Four bags in each trash can- ALL THE TIME. Well there were a total of four trash runs. The two full-timers who I'm complaining about had the first two. By the time the third trash run comes around, the co-worker that had to do it came up to me and said that when she had to pull the cans, there were only one or two bags in each of them. So she had to pull bags and put in at least three bags in each can. You know how long that takes? Waaay too long, especially when the area is crowded because of the parade and the Jedi training sessions, and Epic "dumps". Her trash run took so long, that she wasn't able to do the Muppet cans. I told her to not worry about it, and that I'd do it before I leave because I had the "closing" trash run. Long story short, people screw other people over and could care less, and to make sure you do everything correctly as to cover for yourself. Okay, end of rant

I have two days off, and I'm going to enjoy them.
