Taxi service around the WDW resort area

Post by DisneyManInSeattle » May Mon 23, 2005 1:54 pm

Does anyone know how available the taxi service is in the Orlando area? I'm going down to Florida area for 8 days starting on June 3rd. I'll be down there for a conference but not at the WDW area (at the Orlando Conference center. I'm staying at the Peabody Orlando).

Ideally I want to be able to just jump on a taxi from my hotel and be dropped off at the magic kingdom.

the taxi company down there is pretty reliable, although last time I checked it was pretty expensive. I know about 2 years ago when I called, it would've cost me about $28/person to get from the Orlando airport to the Port Orleans resort (I was just pricing out information then).

I don't know if the taxis would drop you off right at the TTC, as they'd need to go through the parking booths. at minimum, you could req drop off at any of the resort hotels, then hop a bus to the TTC, and from there...

There's always taxis waiting at the taxi waiting area in each park. As for hotels, you can just call for one and they'll be there in about 10 minutes. The service is good, but not great. It's probably cheaper to rent a car unless you'll only need a taxi once or twice.

Yeah, National, etc. rent for cheaper than a using a cab a few times esp. if you can find coupons or deals.
