The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - Trailer out
Disney + WETA film... Trailer here
Looks good. Should make for some good rides! Maybe "Beastly Kingdom" at AK? Lots of mythical animals in the books, and from the look of the trailer, in the film as well. Or films, since there's seven books, isn't there?

Yeah, there are a total of seven books. I first saw the trailer when they played Harry Potter on ABC last weekend. The movie looks really cool, and in preparation I'm going to read the books. So then I could be snooty and say, ""oh yeah, well that part's wrong" and "oh, this didn't happen in the book"kronk's angel wrote:Disney + WETA film... Trailer here

Oh, and "Welcome Home."

My kids are doing the same.Lion Sleeps Tonight wrote:Yeah, there are a total of seven books. I first saw the trailer when they played Harry Potter on ABC last weekend. I read them several years ago, and found them rich in meaning and metaphor - surprisingly great deal about facing death (and beyond) well. After that, I gave a copy of the series to a friend dying of a lingering illness and he found it encouraging, rewarding and diverting.
Appealing to all ages, as you say.

Technically "The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe" is first in the series (not timeline) since it was written first. "The Magician's Nephew wasn't written until after "The Horse and His Boy" and before "The Last Battle." However, if you're speaking about chronological order of the story's timeline, "The Magician's Nephew" is first. Think of it as a prequel...having not come out first, but chronologically the first in the story. This is why some book sets have it as the first book and other book sets have it as the 6th book. Most older sets have it as the 6th book (such as mine) since that was the order in which is was written. Just a little info.AlexLoup wrote:I was a huge CoN fan as a kid, I read tham all, I have 'The magicians Nephew' still. That is the first book of the series 'tLtWatW' was the second.

BBC Series
I haven't actually read the books but I've listened to the BBC Radio series. I'm hoping the movie version does justice. It's a wonderful story but Disney is not exactly known for being truly faithful to stories.

That's true, but since when were movie-adaptations known for being faithful to books? Everyone loved LOTR, but even so there were people upset or mad that certain things were changed around. You can't make everyone happy.
I'm reading the books right now, and I wonder how my image of the characters will change once the movies come out.
