Non-promotional most magical moment?

Outside of a contest or promotion what is the most magical moment you have had involving a castmember or character?

The first time we took our boys to Disney they were 7 and 8. After we went on POC a CM had a sword fight with them in the gift shop! We have lots of pictures, it was a very MAGICAL moment.

I have three:
On my honeymoon, a cast member asked us if we anted to ride in the front of the monorail. We weren't wearing any special "bride and groom" shirts or anything, but the cast member said our rings looked shiny. It was my new husband's first ever ride in a monorail, and it made a HUGE impression.

Also, several years later, my mom and I went for a special trip after she had found that her cancer had metastasized. She was in a scooter, because she just couldn't do Disney without it. She was waiting for me in the gift shop of Tower of Terror (not really her thing) and struck up a conversation with a cast member. They were apparently talking for awhile (this was way off season) and the cast member just gave my mom a trading pin from her lanyard. My mom was so touched--she talked about that moment well after we were home. It really made her last trip to Disney even more memorable.

After we lost my mother, my husband and I went to DL. He parked the car while I went to check in at the Grand Californian. It was so beautiful, and my family is so tied up in Disney, that I burst into tears at the front desk. The cast member was so wonderful and understanding. She tried her hardest for the rest of our trip to make it special. There were balloons in our room that night with a signed Disney character photo and the next night there was non alcoholic champagne and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us. I will never forget how kind she was.

purple figment, your special memories brought tears to my eyes. I'm sorry for your loss.

My fav. memory, not all that spectacular, but special to us, my DH and I were on our honeymoon, and we didn't expect to catch Spectro Magic, we were watching it where it starts in Frontierland, there weren't that many people around, and Cinderella's Coach went by, she must have seen our "Just Married" buttons b/c she leaned toward us and said "Congratulations!" It made us smile. :D Just little touches like that that make Disney so Magical!

My parents, my sister, and I did the WDW Half Marathon together this past January. They gave us special pins to mark the occasion. We made sure to wear them every day. On our last day (I think) we were at Pixar Place getting in line for TSMM and a CM pulled us aside and took us through the handicap entrance. So instead of waiting almost 2 hours we waited maybe 5 minutes. I can't wait to go down there after I am married and take a child for his/her first trip. It's so great getting comments from the CMs...makes you feel special. :)

When we went to WDW this past year, on the last night we ate at California Grill. Our parents had said that we were celebrating our recent graduations from high school and college. When we got to the place, we requested if we could get a table by the window. They told us it would be difficult, but they will see what they can do. Needless to say, when we got seated, we had a table by the window. The table was also decorated with confetti. After we finished eating and requested the check, the staff brought over a piece of chocolate cake for myself and for my brother with "Congratulations from the California Grill" on it.

DD went to the BBB the afternoon before MNSSHP and was turned into a princess. She had taken her Jasmine outfit for the party and BBB was a surprise, she loved it. We did the party, rides, candy, pictures, watched Spectro the whole bit. We were in liberty square watching the 2nd parade. Jasmine came right up to DD during her parade walk by stopped and told DD how beautiful she looked. DD still talks about that.

I have 2 -1 for each of my kids.

On our first trip DD was 3. We were walking behind the Christmas shop in MK when out came Belle. As DD started to walk towards her a rush of people blocked her way. Belle stood back, found DD through the crowd and said "come here little princess". DD was the first to meet Belle at that character greeting, and that made her feel very special.

In 2005 DS lost his first tooth at WDW. We were staying at OKW and he wanted to make sure the tooth fairy found him, so he wrote a note stating what room we were in and left it with the front desk CMs. When he woke up the next morning he found that the tooth fairy had found him with a little help from Mickey - balloons, a signed picture of Mickey and a Stitch plush really made his trip magical. DD spent the rest of the week wiggling her loose tooth...

These magical memories make me smile every time I think of them.

This one was something I wasn't involved in, but I thought was worth mentioning.

Back when I was a CP, I was sweeping around the GMR courtyard in Studios, when the characters were out. A little girl was in a stroller taking a nap, while her parents waited in line for a meet and greet with Snow White.

As her turn soon came, the little girl was still asleep, so along with her parents, Snow White knelt down, and gently spoke to her and eventually the girl's eyes opened, and the look upon her face at seeing the princess was absolutely priceless. The sight was just so magical, it almost brought this lowly custodial to tears.

Oh, and "Welcome Home."

I have 3 from my recent trip to WDW this last week with my step father (his first visit).
It was both our birthday's his was on the 7th of april (our last day) mine was on the 31st of march (the day before our first day) we had reservations at the itialian resturant in world showcase. I was wearing my birthday button even though it was the first of april. they brought a desert for us on the house at the end of our meal.

The other two happened at MK.
#1 we were looking thru the shops in fantasy land and we went into the tinkerbell shop. I had heard that there was a chest somewhere in the shop that if you looked thru the keyhole you would see tink. I could not find this chest so I asked the cast memeber about it. she did not know of a chest but she told us to come over to the register and we could call tink. she handed us a bell which we rang. In about 10 seconds we saw tinkerbell fly into a window behind the register counter, wave and then disapear. It was a very cool effect.

#2 once again we were shoping but this time it was on mainstreet. I was looking for the old fashioned phones which you can pick up and hear a party line conversation on. couldnt find them anywhere so once again i asked a cast member. she said she did not know of any such phones but if we would follow her to the counter she would show us something special. she picked up her phone and dialed a number and then handed me the phone. on the other line it was goofy wishing us a happy birthday and happy first visit. it was a pre-recorded messaged but still pretty cool.

On a trip I took in the summer of 2006 with my fiancee, sister, and brother-in-law, we rode Journey Into Imagination, and went looking around afterwards for Figment in his photo area. (Figment has been my favorite Disney character at the parks since I was three). A cast member asked if she could help us, and my sister said "No, we were just looking for Figment." The cast member said, "Oh, he was called to the Dreamfinder's Lab, let me go see when he'll be back." She went off to make a phone call, and returned in just a couple of minutes with Figment himself! I was so surprised and happy that I was immediately three again, and gave him a big hug (I was 23 at the time.)

The correct location for the phones can be found by reading this excerpt from this wonderful blog:

I thought of another one.

We took our boys to MNSSHP. My DW made them really cool Teenage Ninja Turtles costumes. Jon was Raphael and Erich was Leonardo.

We went on SM. When we were getting off the ride a couple of the CMs working LOVED the boys costumes . They told them that was their favorite cartoon when they were growing up and wanted the boys to ride again. They took us up the back way and we got to get right back on SM.
