what happens when you are banned?

i was wondering what will get you banned and what happens when you are banned, for example i have heard that people have been banned but they can still chat in the forums. i may be wrong though but the question that i really want answered is what will get you banned and what privileges do you have when you are banned.

There are a few types of bans, to be honest. It's something we do not like to do, but have been forced to do on occasion.

We can be banned from posting in the forums, if you show obvious signs of abuse. Like running up your post count just to get points. An example of this is when you post one word answer in succession, or just post nonsense repeatedly. You can also be banned for created an account to post spam, or creating multiple accounts. If you are banned from posting you can still browse the posts, but as a guest and will not be allowed to post.

You can also be banned from listening to the streams. This occurs when you use a stream ripper application to listen to the streams. We do not have unlimited bandwidth and would like to maintain the stream slots for actual listeners.

If you are banned from either, which we hope will not happen, you can use the chat, and are always allowed to browse the site.
