Question Regarding new attractions at WDW

Post by walsh8908 » Jan Tue 18, 2005 6:30 pm

Does anyone have any idea when Soarin in Epcot, the Extreme Stunt Show in MGM, The MK New Stage Show and Expedition Everest are going to open. I heard May for everyride but Everest. Does anyone know. Thanks.

Well Dan you are just about right on those, although I have heard that a soft-open will start in mid to late March for Stunt show from one of my old backlot tour pals. As for Soarin, my guess is that wont open until the Land rehab is finished in April. As for Everest the target date for that is Spring 2006 but could be late 2005 if we are lucky.

This has been brought up before in other topics I believe. The Official Site gives the release date as just May, 05. The Disney Corner has the exact opening dates as May 5, 2005. Also, according to TDC, Expedition Everest is set to open Spring 2006.

Yeah, after taking out Food Rocks for the Soarin' attraction queue/preshow, They've gotta start promoting the new attraction change soon... I wouldn't doubt that the park maps will soon reflect the changes (if not already)...

As a matter of fact, I just received the newest Vacation Planning DVD all for the "Happiest Celebration on Earth". It's actually a 2 disc set. in the insert, it does have park maps. and in the maps, the new attractions are listed. Can't wait until I can get down there myself... :D

Well speaking of the new attractions here is the latest news...

Lights Motors Action- It is confirmed that this show has started soft-openings and considering the complicated nature of the show I would assume that there will be a lot between now and the "official" opening.

Soarin- Cast Member previews started last week and it is strongly rumored that guest soft-openings will take place starting this wednesday, apparently they are going to let guests in through a side opening around the general land construction. This is rumor, albeit strong rumor.

EE- No soft openings in near future although it has been rumored the ride will be ready to go before the end of the year.

drivers wanted

Post by kgmadorin » Mar Tue 15, 2005 5:10 pm

FYI -- Last I heard, Disney was looking for additional stunt drivers for the show. If you're interested and the job posting is still current, you can check it out at http://corporate.disney.go.com/careers/wdw_drivers.html

I used to know some of the guys who worked at Indy Epic Stunt Spectacular and they loved it. If I had the experience, I'd be tempted to submit an application...
