Favorite Attraction Tournament: Disneyland

Post by MansionButler » Jul Tue 17, 2007 11:17 am

So they're doing this at WDW Magic, and it's actually been pretty interesting. I thought I'd try it here.

Each park (I'm going to do the water parks, too, for kicks) has 20 attractions listed, and you vote for your favorite. After a week, the top five vote-getters advance, and will all face off in a final poll to decide the best attraction on property.

Also, the best past attractions will have their own poll to decide the best attractions that are no more, and, eventually, the best attraction of all time.

I hope to do it for the east coast parks, too. So start with Disneyland: what's your favorite attraction and why?

Definitely Indy.

I was just in awe of the queue alone with its "special features". The ride design was great, the theming incredible... that ride is so much fun!

Pirates was a definite for me, but Indy is a close second. Pirates is a little more of a classic and surrounds you with the environment even more. Plus the characters are original (now debatable with the additions) so it has a very Disney-esque feel.

Since the DLRR and Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes are both missing from the list, I'll give my love to Star Tours, though it should probably go to Splash Mountain.

And casrin- you have a Star Tours Fan banner in your sig yet you voted for Indy? It's an outrage!

My personal top five:

1. Pirates of the Caribbean
2. Splash Mountain
3. Indiana Jones
4. The Haunted Mansion
5. Thunder Mountain

This is before the refurbishments, though. Pirates is probably loses a few points now, and Mansion probably gains a ton. And I'm not sure about Space Mountain at all.

Okay. Let's see. Um..

Thunder Mountain- I just love it. I know it's not the fastest or overly entertaining. I just love it. Especially at night.

A very close second is Indy. Wow, such fun! I love the queue's theming and just the mood it creates. My first time walking through the queue, I was scared out of my wits at what was to come.

Pirates used to be my favorite, but it lost a little of its magic for me.

I would have to say, on my first trip to Disneyland in 25 some-odd years, Space Mountain was my favorite. The smoothness of the ride, combined with the New Daytime Track music made it a awesome experience.

The Indiana Jones Adventure, just because they don't have anything like at WDW.

Wow, with my vote for Space Mountain it's now a 3 way tie between Space, Indy, and POTC. :) Good luck Space Mountain!

The original, the best, the one and only Pirates of the Caribbean. No-brainer for me.

I love the Indiana Jones Ride. I am an East Coaster and visit WDW quite often and have only been able to make two trips to Disneyland. While the Dinasour ride in the Animal Kingdom is the same track, it's not the same ride. This is one envy ride over the east coast.

I honestly can't decide on which one is best because I LOVE most of them, so I don't like but I won't vote for them.

I have to say that I am shocked that Splash Mountain has yet to receive a single vote.

The line is always too long :)

It's unfortunate this forum doesn't get as much attention as WDW's. I'd like to see more results on this poll.
