Strollers

Post by ctrain2281 » Sep Sat 23, 2006 8:42 am

Anyone remember when Disney had those old school huge, metal strollers in the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT at WDW. I remember as a kid that I spent many hours in comfort as my poor parents pushed my somewhat pudgey 5-10 year old bottom around. And boy, I remember on the rare occassion when I would help to "push" the stroller when my little brother or sister were in them and would occassionally crush my poor dad's ankle with it. Oh the memories.

Hey remember we would double up in the stroller, and the year we had the "rhino" stroller, Don't they have those huge purple plastic ones now?

Those things were horrible! LOL!! My oldest was only 2 on his first visit and that is exactly what we rented at the MK.

I remember being hit by a few. Many parents seem to forget or not notice that they are pushing it into your calves! OUCH!

Those were the ones that had the shade on top with the metal frame through it. I've seen kids sitting cross-legged on there.

I remember the old strollers they had at the MK. When we were at WDW the year after my daughter was born we had one. They were really in bad shape. But the DS had beautiful new ones then. I'm glad to be out of the stroller age. We didn't rent any for the first time this year. :mickey:

Yeah...I don't think the internet needs pics of me rolling around in a stroller  However, looking back at them, man I was a small kid....

As a former custodial hostess, strollers were my nemesis. I was constantly having to avoid getting my ankles taken out by those things, and I often found myself helping fellow cast-members at greeter positions take strollers that guests had parked willy-nilly and put them in the designated stroller areas. I vowed to myself not to take stroller-aged kids to a Disney park after that. We'll see how that holds up down the line.

What's a stroller? Is it anything like those things that people use like plows to move people out of their way as they go through the parks? Are they the things that guests just sort've toss around willy nilly and don't worry about parking in any order in the reserved spots?
