Vintage Rides

We live in Chattanooga and local to us is a park called Lake Winnie (actually it's Lake Winnepesaukah). It has a couple of historic vintage rides. The park was first opened in 1923 and it has a ride called the "Wave Swinger". It's a large swing ride that is actually the sister of the swing ride that was in Steeplechase in Coney Island.
I've done some research and found out it is one of the six original rides built in Germany. It's a great peice of history and good to see that some of these grand old rides are being kept in working condition!
If you have one of these family parks in you area please share it with us, I know I would enjoy hearing about it!!

Unfortunately, all we have here is the icky fair that comes by every summer. It's getting worse every year.

But we do live an hour away from the city. My mom remembers going to Freedomland and Palisades Park. A few of the rides from Freedomland ended up going to Six Flags parks, I believe.

Lake Compounce is here in CT, i haven't been there in two years so there's probably lots of vintage rides i can't remember.
Of the one's I do remember: a really old trolley car and one of those circular swing type rides with the ruddars on it (name?

)
There's also a really old park called Quassy, but the last time I was there I was about five, so I'm not up to date with what's there.

We're just back from Cedar Point last week - it's definitely not like what you mention, but it does have some "classic" type rides one might not find at their local theme park and it's got a nice "old fashioned" type of feel with a great combination of new technology. And my favorite - roller coasters!
