WDW Explorer software
I just won an auction on eBay for the Walt Disney World Explorer CD-Rom software. And, for a decent price I think (shipping is outrageous, though). In case you don't know what I'm talking about, it's a program that lets you "experience" the sights, sounds, and magic of WDW. Basically, an interactive walkthrough of the parks. To see the auction, go here - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 7100891421
Anyone have this software? I just want to know what to look forward to.

I own the Walt Disney World version of that CD-ROM. My version is the version that was on sale right before the 25th Anniversary. The program is very nice. You will recognize a lot of music from the parks on it. The programs starts out will a very nice opening with Tinkerbell and the main menu an animated cartoon version of WDW including Downtown Disney, the waterparks, the speedway, and of course the theme parks. You can then click from there to a theme park or resort hotel etc. Inside the parks you can click on attractions for a basic overview or you can learn trivia, backstage information, or bonus material about most. The program even has a nice interative timeline. It is probably a great buy on ebay.

It was. $1.99. Do you know if it'll work on XP, or do I have to have something older (as the discription just said windows 3.1/95 or higher)? Sounds great if it'll work..rct247 wrote:I own the Walt Disney World version of that CD-ROM. My version is the version that was on sale right before the 25th Anniversary. The program is very nice. I actually got version 2 shortly after getting the first edition. It's actually the exact same thing with the addition of info for Animal Kingdom park. And for AK, it doesn't even have the same things that you can do for the other parks (like all the attractions) due to the fact that AK was just barely finished when that cd came out...nti2002 wrote:I've been using my old copy on XP and it works great.
does any one have version 2 though? I want to know how different it is from version 1
I'm actually surprised that Disney hasnt' made a version 3 with high end graphics and a walk through the parks. Oh well, Eisner strikes again i guess.

I haven't seen it at any Disney store (but the may have it at the World of Disney store at DownTown Disney at WDW). And I don't recall seeing them at the parks (it's been a few years since I've gone
). I found both versions online through eBay. You may be able to find them at places that sell computer software like CompUSA, BestBuy, etc.
