I can see your point, but there has to be some transition area. It will be nice to have some more space in Fantasyland.CastMember2o13 wrote:This is great, but I'm worried that they're risking overstepping the rule of keeping each land in-character. It's going to be quite jarring to look up from futuristic little Tomorrowland and see this mammoth circus tent! I really love how the lands tend to stay in character, as grand as the expansion will look in Fantasyland, I'm beginning to feel a bit worried for the other lands.

Re: Fantasyland Expansion...
The mixing land thing doesn't bother me either....I'm more offended at seeing Bay Lake Tower from parts of the park.
I think they do a good job of keeping the lands as separate as possible - I never thing of the speedway as true tomorrowland b/c there isn't a lot of theming going on in that ride. Now if Space Mountain were right up against the Dumbo Tent, that would be different!
I love how everything is coming together, very exciting stuff.

You could see the Contemporary from certain parts of the park long before they even thought of building of BLT.disneylizzy wrote:The mixing land thing doesn't bother me either....I'm more offended at seeing Bay Lake Tower from parts of the park.

I don't mind seeing it from Tomorrowland, but BLT is so big and close that it is viewable from other areas too. Anyway, maybe a topic for a different threadMadEye wrote:You could see the Contemporary from certain parts of the park long before they even thought of building of BLT.disneylizzy wrote:The mixing land thing doesn't bother me either....I'm more offended at seeing Bay Lake Tower from parts of the park.

I always thought the speedway as a "neutral" theme so as a way to separate Fantasyland from Tomorrowland.disneylizzy wrote:The mixing land thing doesn't bother me either....I'm more offended at seeing Bay Lake Tower from parts of the park.

It certainly is moving along. At one point I was thinking how unpleasant the sounds of construction would be for the guests. Right at that moment, the announcement for the Speedway came on about not striking the car in front in the loading/unloading area. Guess that unpleasant sound wasn't the construction after allkcarts wrote:Another video update of the progress.....

Fantasyland Expansion...Effect on visitng?
Hi all,
Has the Fantasy Land expansion had a negative effect on the visitors experience in the MK? Is the original Dumbo ride still operating? Where can I find out the latest news on this? I am planning on taking my three year old this August and all he wants to do is go on Dumbo!! Please help.

So far it sounds like Fantasyland is chugging along without any problems during construction. There might be a little bit more crowded conditions, but nothing that seems to be making a big impact. And Dumbo is still running for now ~ hopefully he will be up and running when you are there in August!domarino wrote:Hi all,

Maybe just bad timing: Dumbo went on vacation at the same time?domarino wrote:Thanks Amy! Keeping my fingers crossed! And thinking up a believable explanation for my three year old in case it is closed! LOL

We haven't noticed anything negative all times that we've visited since construction. I'm wondering when they will close Snow White? I know they are going to, but I don't know what the timeline is on this.

I kind of hope it is still open if we get to go before our AP's expire the first part of December. I would love to be able to experience the Snow White attraction one more time! That is one that I remember from my first trip when I was 6disneylizzy wrote:We haven't noticed anything negative all times that we've visited since construction. It is a good one. Very old and outdated but still a good ride.

Not a bad point - I wish I had riden it in Dec 2010. It would be nice to ride it one last time before all those princess invade that space...Amy wrote:I kind of hope it is still open if we get to go before our AP's expire the first part of December.
