Re: Food Pr0n!
I'm just waiting for my tomatoes to ripen so I can have them as well. I really hate store bought ones, even the farmer's market ones aren't as good.
I actually really like to have cheese souffle during the summer for lunch or dinner, it's all the goodness of something like macaroni and cheese without the food coma. People say it's hard to make but most of it can be done in advance.

I wasn't home to cook last week and nothing new since it's the season change over. I am prepping some shortribs to make kogi tacos tonight though.

I think I may have just commited a war crime making the chili oil, my neighbor complained they could smell it outside (I have the exhaust fan running at full blast to prevent my own burning lungs).

Nice to see you are treating your neighbors as good as you treat us! Maybe you could offer them some when it is all finished to smooth things over?Wizzard419 wrote:I think I may have just commited a war crime making the chili oil, my neighbor complained they could smell it outside (I have the exhaust fan running at full blast to prevent my own burning lungs).

Guess you're not "borrow-a-cup-of-sugar, watch-my-pet-fish-while-I'm-out-of-town" kind of neighbors huh?!Wizzard419 wrote:I can offer them a face full of chili oil.

The people here don't actually seem to cook, they spend 50-60k on a kitchen remodel and either eat out all the time or only eat pre-made stuff.

Gotta have something to brag about when you have the neighbors come around...Wizzard419 wrote:The people here don't actually seem to cook, they spend 50-60k on a kitchen remodel and either eat out all the time or only eat pre-made stuff.

Parties are always a mixed bag, some people will hire Williams Sonoma (or some other group) to cater and other times it's heated up food from supermarkets. I've never been to a party where someone actually made food.

Re: Food Pr0n!
Ok, apparently Wizzard doesn't eat in the summer, so here we have the first installment of....ghetto food pr0n! No way can I compete with the fancy schmancy gourmay food, so feast your eyes on some good old fashioned...food!
Ham salad (made from good old oscar mayer b-o-l-o-g-n-a) sliders

A little s-car-go ~ whoops, this must have gotten mixed in from Wizzard's photos

Parmesan fettucini with broccoli

Spicy southwestern chicken and rice

Leggo my Eggo Mickey waffles

Baked sweet potato crisps

And some coming attractions from the garden of eat'n...
cherry towmaters

grapes ~ third year for the vines, first year with grapes! Yay! Hopefully we can get some before the critters make off with them all when they ripen

yellow squash

cucumbers

As I learned from Kitchen Kabaret ~ Bonnie Appetite!
Oh, and here is the turtle F1gment was worried I couldn't outrun

Looks good, yeah I don't cook nearly as much new stuff during the summer and I really don't eat as much. Now that it's heated up again the tomatos will start growing (lots of blossom drop).
