If I recall it was in Cork (working vacation as I was there to work as well).Sleepy90 wrote:Not so many griddles around anymore so I suppose people are using their ovens, The raisin bread that you saw I think may be a similar bread but normally has a glazed soft crust on top and is known as a baranbak. I can see why you would think soda farls were crumpets but in actual fact they are just quarters of the griddle. I have to ask while you were there did you have an Ulster Fry.Wizzard419 wrote:I've seen it only oven baked in ireland (both with and without black currants or rasins), though I might have seen the griddle ones and though they were crumpets.

While I never stated the brand name, it is actually fiestaware, and you too can buy it at Macy's.

Re: Food Pr0n!
So at lunch today with my friend, I found something that probably has the same nutritional value of the Monte Cristo ~ she said it was so good she had ordered it twice on previous trips...
Behold, the Bistro Chicken Sandwich ~ Grilled Chicken Breast, shaved Ham, Swiss cheese, fresh Spinach, and onion. Topped with a fried Egg and Tomato Vinaigrette.
Yup, it was pretty tasty, although the tomato vinaigrette didn't really go with the rest of the flavors.

Is that a low carb version (no bread)? If you ditch the fries and the bun it actually is a decently healthy food since you're getting protien (and the important lutien from the egg).
I never get people who order just egg whites, they have no fat/cholest. but they also lack nutrition (and flavor for the most part) since all the benficial stuff is in the yolk.

Re: Food Pr0n!
There was a very scrawny piece of some sort of bread on the bottom. Unfortunately it was mostly soaked by the sauce which I didn't care for. My friend and I each ate a few fries but they weren't all that great either. So, I guess I ate healthy for lunch then...at least the spinach was tasty and fresh!Wizzard419 wrote:Is that a low carb version (no bread)? Yeah, if the bread was tiny and you didn't touch the fries then you sorta had a diet lunch.
This weekend I know I need to cook down and freeze a bunch of spinach, I grow it in the garden, otherwise it will grow too big and get these thorn-like things on it (planted for the first time last year and picking became painful).

Re: Food Pr0n!
Does the flavor change if it grows to the thorny stage? I've never had any success with salad greens. The birds eat them before I can get the greens big enough for me to eatWizzard419 wrote:Yeah, if the bread was tiny and you didn't touch the fries then you sorta had a diet lunch. This weekend I know I need to cook down and freeze a bunch of spinach, I grow it in the garden, otherwise it will grow too big and get these thorn-like things on it (planted for the first time last year and picking became painful).

Re: Food Pr0n!
Not really, the leaves get a little tougher (so you probably would want to cook the spinach)

Interesting ~ I never knew spinach got thorny...I'm probably going to regret this statement aren't I?!Wizzard419 wrote:Not really, the leaves get a little tougher (so you probably would want to cook the spinach)

Only if you stuff it in your underwear when we aren't looking.
I didn't know it grew barbs either since it was the first time I had planted the stuff.

Re: Food Pr0n!
Thanks! Mom was skeptical but gave in when she realized I was making them. Ger pizza just has mozzarella for cheese, mine had gouda and a teeny bit of mozz. They ended up pretty tasty ~ and a good way to use up the few homemade chicken tenders we had for lunchJacca5660 wrote:That looks YUMMY Amies!!!!!
