That effect is called an FCG (flying Crank Ghost). I have thought about building one of them for my Halloween display but I don't really have anywhere to put it this year.

I know how cheesy this is going to sound. But I love how I'm refered to as a "Guest". Not a customer, not a tourist. It really makes me feel welcome. And I love when I use my credit card or debit card how the sales clerks addresses me by my name. It really makes me feel special.

Ok, go ahead, throw the tomatoes. :P

DH and I love that high we get from getting up at 2:30 in the morning in order to make the first flight out of our airport. Then to get to our Disney resort and beat feet to Magic Kingdom in the early afternoon to ride POTC first which is a long-standing tradition. It is a real addiction.

Oh, another one I've always liked on PotC is at WDW when you go by the guy sleeping with the pigs, there's a couple of bottles of rum floating in the water. It took me a quite few rides to notice them.
That's funny. On my last trip, My girlfriend and I spotted the bottles and we wasnt sure if those were fake bottles or if someone had trashed POTC (i reckon its pretty easy to sneak soda/drinks on the boat. I'm real glad that they are part of the show and aren't ruining it.

A detail that I love now is Hidden Mickeys. I bought the book and had a fun time finding a lot of them.
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

Yeah even if someone were to "drop" a bottle into the water it would go through the filter eventually and get shredded. But those bottles are tied down to the bottom so they don't move much.

I got the hidden mickey book about 2 years ago, and started to look for all of them myself but realized it takes a lot of time and effort to find them. I'm lazy so I gave up, which reminds me that I have to give my book to JS3901. I do like them but I can't say they are a detail because of the fact that they were sometimes created by none Disney folk just working on a project or even by mistake. I'm not saying that they were all done that way but a fare few were.

This is a fun topic! I have to say, there are details everywhere when it comes to disney -- so here is my short list of a few of my faves. (One from each park)

1. I love the old fashioned "horse" posts on Main Street. So buggy drivers can tie the reigns through the hoop in the horse's mouth. Makes me wish I had a buggy.

2. I love the waterfall that goes "up" in Future World (right by "Honey I shrunk the audience)

3. I love the vintage 40's style billboards for Nescafe, Coca-cola, and Kodak in MGM.

4. I love the bicycle tracks and bird prints on the path that runs through Asia in the Animal Kingdom.

Just a few of a very long list .... :mickey:

I can't really place my finger on any small details and narrow it down to a list... it's been years since I have visited WDW and I crave to go back, partially for Epcot and MGM. I do remember though one of my favorite things is the ride variation on the Tower of Terror. I think the ToT has a lot more detail and style in WDW than in DL. It just makes me happier to ride that version :) Oh and I like the Soaring effects as well  always a great treat to smell ocean breezes and oranges in the morning! Ohh shoot before I close this rant... Haunted Mansion the ballroom sequence! I have always loved the ammount of detail that they put into it! It's so neat looking I have to ride the ride like 3 times per trip!!

My favourite detail has to be the Hidden Mickeys, like many of you I love spending time trying to find all of them! It also means that you spend time just looking at the detail of the park, rather than just rushing to rides. Its amazing how much attention they spend on everything. I also love the really stupid things like the talking fountain in EPCOT and the sounds on mainstreet coming form the dentists etc. above mainstreet.

I really recommend doing some of the tours like keys to the kingdom etc. if you like noticing all the little details. They point out things that you had never noticed, but would soon miss if they weren't there! :D

I really like just walking around the park and appreciate everything around me rather then moving from ride to ride.

Just going around the parks enjoying the sights that you don't see every day. Such as for me Palm trees, don't have any of those here in Mass... Just the overall feeling of being in such a fun place.

This has probably been mentioned before, but I love all the stories that go with the buildings, attractions and other structures in the parks. From paintings to props to signs and things.
