and also, a lot of you probably know these but when in the indiana jones queue at disneyland. while walking through the spike room, most of you probably noticed that there is a pole that looks like it could use some extra poles to help it support the ceiling (it's bent  ) and if you give the pole a good shaking it'll make a really loud and frightening noise and spikes will drop down suddenly, but not far, just enough to scare you. it's also a great way to get people walking behind you that give you a weird look because you stopped and shook a random pole. the sounds and spikes used to be a lot more quicker and violent sounding, but guests complained to the staff so they had to bring it back a little bit. if the pole somehow does not work, that means, you either didn't shake it hard enough, or it's resetting.

also in the indy queue in the next room, the one that's kinda like a big circle with a giant stone thing in the middle, there is a rope and a sign that reads "do not pull on the rope" for a fun experience, pull the rope. i'm not going to spoil the surprise for those of you that don't know about this "secret" i guess you could call it.

and a lot of you guys might know this and probably do but out of the singing busts in the haunted mansion at disneyland, the one that is broken and has a striking resemblance to walt disney, but isn't, is the voice of tony the tiger and a few other tv voices. thurl ravenscroft is the name of that man. thurl passed away recently for those of you who don't know. Rest In Peace Thurl, you did so much for disney that we will never forget.

also, in the train station in new orleans square at disneyland, if you listen closely, you will hear a telegraph writing something, and what it is "decoding" the word could be, is walt's dedication speech from july 17, 55

and also, in the disney gallery, if you would take a look down and take notice the wood paneling in the floor. that is the same wood paneling that the disney's wanted for the apartment up in what would later be the gallery. the disney's wanted the gallery as their apartment because the apartment above the fire station was beginning to come a little cramped for entertaining guests. but as most of you know, walt passed away and the apartment was never used for the disney family, and was later bought by INA i think it was (insurance of north america) and was used by them until INA moved down to the carefree corner on main street and the disney gallery was born. and it has been that since then. correct me if i'm wrong, but i think the disney gallery opened in 87...

sorry for the long post, once i start talking about disney, i just can't stop talking. i could go on all day. if there's anything else that i remember, i'll be sure to post it...it probably won't be as long as this one though.. :D

that walk way behind tomorrowland at the magic kingdom at disney world is probably one of the most secluded areas in any of the parks in the world. i think most of the time you are lucky if even one person walks by you when you are walking on it

About that bamboo pole in Indiana Jones queue- are you supposed to shake it really hard? I see people shaking it and pulling it back and forth like there's no tomorrow.

I didn't know about train stations morse code thing. Next time it's on, I'll think about it differently...maybe.

That walkway is also a great, though not central, place to watch the fireworks. We accidentally discovered it on our way to find a good spot. The show started and we just sat back and watched. We were literally the only people there! Nice extra--by the time you make it back to Main St. to leave, most of the crowds have gone.
Wanted to add...even though it's not exactly a park-related secret. For guests staying at the Wilderness Lodge, there is a flag raising ceremony every morning, I believe at 8am (?) on the roof of the resort. If you request to be part of it when you check in, they will schedule a date for you to help. I don't remember how I found out about this, but we did it last time we were there, and it was absolutely AWESOME! We went with 2 CM's all the way up to the top of the resort, and could see for miles. We helped raise all of the flags and got a mini-tour and some great fun resort/park facts to come home with. They let us linger as long as we wanted and get some picures. It was truly an unforgettable experience. I'm hoping to do it again in December. Just thought I'd share!

It will only work once every 5-10 minutes... so if someone just did it, you may not get a reaction from the room.

Also pull the rope that leads down the well, and listen.

And the witch at Snow White will cackle at you if you touch her gold apple. My mom didn't believe me when I told her... hehe... she jumped a foot in the air!

Ah, okay then. I usually dont shake the poll cuz there's usually someone doing it already and I just pass by and think, "oh well, next time." Same thing with the rope. Is there also something to do with the diamonds on the ground? I thought that if you stepped on a certain one, there's a dart sound effect.

And that's why people touch the golden apple! I saw someone do it once while I passed by the ride but didn't think anything of it. Cool.

I don't know of a hidden mickey type book published for Disneyland, but there is one for WDW. Kind of a bummer.
