There's a Dairy Queen somewhere down at WDW?

It's inside the Starbucks, didn't you hear?

Do they charge additional fees for the games inside, or do just certain things cost extra? I've heard people complain that it is run down and the games are pretty outdated. We used our ESPN game cards when we went to DL because they were included with our package and we rarely do the extra things. We found out the $5, or something like that, card was good for about one game or activity. Fun for about a minute but certainly not something we would have invested more time or money in had it not been "free" with our trip package.
Amy, if entrance to Disney Quest did not come as part of our package then I doubt that we would go but as it is already paid for we occasionally use it if the weather is not great. The games are all in the price apart from the make a toy section but you really need to enjoy video games to go.
Every trip, I've considered, however briefly, the option of spending a day to go to Disney Quest but always ended up deciding it would not be worth the money and time. I'm only planning to give it a visit this trip because as Sleepy noted it is included in my vacation package.
Someone on yelp pointed out that people who got free admission consistently rated DisneyQuest higher than those who paid full price. Guess I'll find out soon enough...20 days til vacation!

Not on a card for us, all part of our ultimate ticket we have access to Disney Quest any time we please and Wild world of Sports although for the special events we need to purchase entry. When we arrive it is all downloaded on to the room key.

In 2001 the trip tickets we bought were "water parks and more" option, which we didn't use everything out of (won't make that mistake again). Anyway, I ended up taking Meghan, who was 7 at the time, to DQ and we had fun, but it was only an hour or two before she was ready to leave. I wouldn't want to actually pay for it outright, although I suppose we did when we bought our upgraded park tickets.

That makes sense, you will generally always look upon something more favorably if it is free

It sounds like you enjoy video games, so I'm thinking you might enjoy it. Hope you have fun

May I ask if it is a set amount on a card that is included with your package?
I do, but I am picky. If I don't enjoy it, I've got vouchers for two rounds of mini golf as well.

And I know I like that.

We never have used our mini golf vouchers. My Mom isn't too excited about that, and I would rather spend the time in the parks

I hadn't planned to initially, but I had to rebook flights. Now I'm taking a red eye that arrives at 5:35 am (instead of 4:00 pm) on the 22nd; so, my 5 day park hopper won't have any more days on it for Jan 27th (departing flight is 5:00pm - gotta catch the magical express around 2). Adding another day when I have limited time or using free vouchers for DisneyQuest and miniature golf? Easy choice.

That actually works out pretty well for you then. Plus you could do some shopping at DTD, or resort hop to see the different resorts. I want to do that someday when I live down there and don't feel like I am "wasting" a parks day.

If I remember correctly, the first time we went to DQ was in 1998 and it was free to get in, but to participate in any attractions you had to load money on a card and pay at each attraction.
When we went in 2003, it was paid entrance and the attractions were all included. I don't think we would go again now unless it were part of a package deal.
Well, it looks like my parents are going to be going to WDW on January 26th. It will be an overwhelming day for them since they haven't been there since 1972 (except dad was at Epcot over a decade ago). I wish we could be there to be a "guide" for them, but my cousin will be there for that. We're hoping that someday (maybe next year) all 4 of us will be able to go together.

Not since 1972?

I guess he was waiting for them to adding something new to the park. Thank goodness they finally added onto Fantasyland, right?
It's hard to believe there are people like that in this world. I have an uncle and aunt who have NEVER been to WDW. Their son had only been once to the MK and I took him for his first time to EPCOT.

I might have to investigate DQ before we go next time. I would be much happier with the pay one price and play whatever you want to, rather than paying separately for each game. But I doubt I would rather spend time there than in the parks.
Wow, your Dad really is in for a treat isn't he?! Like mindflipper said, it is almost hard to fathom that there are people out there that don't love Disney as much as we do

And the count drops to 14 days! Does it show that I'm looking forward to this trip?
