Nah, I imagine Mouseoholic will go next for something like a dining table made to look like EPCOT's SSE or headboard for the bed made to look like MK's castle...

Can you take the current one you're working on, cut it in half lengthwise, and then have two Mickey shaped items where you had one? Looks like it is tall enough to get away with it...Mousekedude wrote:LOL, you might not be that far off, you know!mindflipper wrote:Nah, I imagine Mouseoholic will go next for something like a dining table made to look like EPCOT's SSE or headboard for the bed made to look like MK's castle...![]()

NaCler - too funny-vinylmation box
We actually came very close to making a Sleeping Beauty castle-inspired entertainment center. Then we downsized and no longer had the space. Hopefully someday....

Re: Creative Disney Crafting
Just thought I'd keep this thread alive by mentioning that I worked on the shadowbox again the other day. I sanded some of the putty I put on in the last episode. Didn't take any pictures this time, though... partly because I got interrupted by domestic drama and couldn't make as much progress as I'd hoped to do, but also because I didn't think pictures of me sanding the shadowbox would be very interesting. Who wants to see someone sanding something...?
Anyway, I'm super busy with a lot of drama in my life right now, but rest assured that I haven't forgotten about my shadowbox project. More to come....

We all pretty much figured you had more pressing obligations than the shadowbox at the moment. We are a patient lot...mostlyMousekedude wrote:Just thought I'd keep this thread alive by mentioning that I worked on the shadowbox again the other day. Re: Creative Disney Crafting
I am re-doing an unused bedroom (my oldest Son got married!) to a Disney room! We painted the room on the weekend a Disney royal blue, and I am picking up the Disney wallpaper border later on today. My husband is making a shadowbox for the beginnings of my Vinylmation collection and I have begun the tedious process of displaying my pins!
I didn't think we were able to make the fabulous Mickey shaped pin display, so I purchased (3) framed cork boards to display my pins. I finished this one last night!

I will be working on the rest of the pins this week. It looks like each cork board will hold about 125 pins. I also have so much more Disney stuff, it's truly unbelievable! It will be fun to locate things I have stuffed in closets and drawers to display. I can't wait! I will take more pictures as we work on the project. Fun fun fun!

One idea: did you think of covering the corkboard with some material (like black felt or velvet) before putting the pins on it?

Sorry! I had to do the same thing with a small shadow box we had bought for my father's collection of vacation pins.cousininmiami wrote:Oh geeeeeeeeze, now I have to start over! That is a great idea! P.S. As for locating material, check out your local WalMart to see if they have a cloth section in the store. You can buy it there at some stores. Take one corkboard with you so they can cut it there to fit. Otherwise, try locating a Jo-Ann's Fabric Store if you have one nearby.

You can probably get by with a remnant too, which will save you a little money so you can buy more souvenirs for the room on your upcoming trip!!

...or you can send the framed pins to Amy to remove the pins, install the fabric, replace the pins, and she can mail back the finished board; I figure if she's so quick to volunteer others, than she's more than happy to volunteer herself as well...Amy wrote:cousininmiami wrote:Oh geeeeeeeeze, now I have to start over! or, since mindflipper so kindly brought it up, perhaps you can drop it off to him on your way to WDW, he can remove the pins, install the fabric, replace the pins, and you can pick the finished board up on the way home!
