Sorry I didn't get on here sooner to update everyone. I saw the movies Friday night and agree with everyone, they are sooooo much better in 3D. It adds so much more to the movies. I went to a 7:00 showing and the theater was about a quarter full; mostly families. In Gainesville the children behave, the problem we have is the college students, but thankfully they don't want to see a movie that wasn't directed by Michael Bay. A few families did leave after the first movie, I know double features haven't been a big thing for a few decades, but it isn't that hard of a concept to understand.
The only thing I didn't like, was the lack of a Pixar short before the feature. Even if it was a short we have seen before. "Luxo Jr." would have been okay, it was the short for the original theatrical release of Toy Story 2. It just didn't feel right seeing a Pixar movie without a short. All in all, it was well worth it and didn't feel like three and a half hours at all.

Back to the thread - we saw it on a Saturday morning and were only accompanied by about 15-20 other people, mainly with small children who behaved excellently! Made me feel good that there were still good mannered kids (due to good parenting) around!
The movies were great in 3D. Really made you feel like you were in the scenes. I agree how some of the scenes looked incredible while others just seemed OK, maybe not too much multiplaning-type scenes. What was really great was the trailer for A Christmas Carol in 3D - that looked AMAZING.....cannot wait to see that one in IMAX 3D!!

I saw a video released by Lee Unkrich (TS3 director) saying that they are going to keep the double feature in theaters a little while longer. He did not specify how long though. Below is a link to the video if anyone hasn't seen it yet. (I hope it works. If not, I'm sure it's on You Tube...I can't access it from this computer)
