Gate / Admission Finger Scanning going away?

I think one of the reasons they have it is to try to keep families from buying one, single discounted 7-day pass, and having everyone use the one ticket on a single day. In other words, if the family of 7 had to purchase 7 individual one-day tickets, Disney makes a lot more money. Hope that makes sense.

Those gates are going to be manned regardless of which technology is being used and since many people are coming in using the system for the first time it will always require a certain amount of hand-holding. It's funny to watch people try to scan their tickets and walk through the gates. Most are not paying attention and hold up the lines.meticulus9 wrote:i dont think that makes sense. you wouldnt be able to use FP, and each person is required to have their own media. i think they did it to prevent black market media from being sold and also to reduce the number of cast members @ the gate

At least those scanners are cleaned once or twice a day. Much better than all those handrails and vehicle restraints that you touch all day that aren't cleaned nearly as often.cccmouse wrote:I would love to see the finger scan go away. I always wind up in line behind the guy who just can't figure it out. Plus, where have all those fingers been? Yuck!

That isn't how the tickets work. The turnstile system can only take one day off a pass per day. Once it's been used it either comes up as "Recently Used" and refuses entry (if it's been 15 minutes or so since last usage, I'm not sure what the hard time is on that) or "Already Used" and lets you in.WVParkfan wrote:I think one of the reasons they have it is to try to keep families from buying one, single discounted 7-day pass, and having everyone use the one ticket on a single day.
