We do rings to countdown each week till our trip...anything to make it seem faster

If you're anything like me, it will seem like the time flies by and you're having to pack at the last minute

Actually I am kinda (ok very) OCD and I will be packing like a week or more in advance... I make a detailed list of everything that I need to take.. it is kinda ridiculous actually hehe

Oh I make lists. But time just always sort of runs out faster than I anticipate! The past two trips I haven't been able to feel the joy and anticipation because I have been too busy working....not going to complain about being busy working, that is a good thing, but the build-up always was part of the fun and I missed that

Yeah i do love the trip planning it is almost as fun as the trip.. because I always get the new Unofficial Guide when it comes out in August, it is like a birthday present to myself, and then that is when I know that our groups planning will start soon. we try to start by September.

Three months, one week. We've been counting down since August 2011 and it's getting closer! It's been an almost agonizing wait, but we keep talking about more things, details, shopping, shoes, packing, activities, saving enough money for everything, etc. etc. etc. ZOMG I might explode.

Well, we always book with a travel agent (who is a good friend of ours as well so he really helps us out) and the package that we got included free dining plans.. so there are already some packages out there that have free eating. Trust it, if it hadn't been free we wouldn't have got it, we had never gotten the package with food before.
I am so glad that we did.. we were missing something great all these years.

Oh crikey don't I know it! But, it's not 120 out, I'm not in full uniform, I'm in my own home (or at that time will be in my own country with my family present), and I don't have 70 lbs. of gear strapped to my back. Gotta keep things in perspective.

True. A friend of mine is in the Air Force and was recently deployed overseas. Here is how she described her first sandstorm "It was like the visibility of a Michigan blizzard mixed with the winds of a tornado then a little heat and sticky sand added for extra misery. Yuck! Good news is it helped cool things off some. Only got up to 108 today!" I told her she has a great positive attitude to find the good in that!

The books are really good.. they are not small and travel sized, over 1000 pages but great fro reading in cars or on planes or whatever or in your hotel room.. I think they make a travel version.
