By the way, I'll be back this summer, at the Contemporary, for my 50th (actually there for a conference - nice of them to hold it with the Mouse for me and a Speed Limit birthday). Any good birthday meal suggestions, or special things I should pre-arrange, or ask for? I got a birthday card and balloons at the campground one year - that was nice!

Hey - as long as it is chocolate, I don't care if it is crammed, wedged, spindled, folded or whatever! I'm just happy that we were all really full, so my parents were willing to split the cake four ways. Boy, was it rich and wonderful! We went out on the roof deck, but it was really windy, and pretty cold (Dec 29 in Florida).

I know they ask when you book if you are celebrating anything special. You can also mention it again when you check in. It seems to be hit or miss whether or not you will get any surprises. I think it is more likely at the table service restaurants that you might get a special dessert or something.
That is pretty awesome that you get to spend your birthday at the Contemporary on the company's dime! If you like authentic pizza, I would suggest Via Napoli ~ but mostly for the Zeppoli dessert there. It is delicious!

If they don't then it's probably not authentic. (Apparently part of the rules, aside from the certificate is that you need one of those clowns to serve as a patron saint)

I ate at the Grand Florridian Cafe last year and while there's nothing kid/Disney special about it, I thought it was a nice quiet, "grown up" looking restaurant and the food was really good. If they are looking for a little peace and quiet, they may want to check this out.

Just got the assignment to make a reservation for dinner sometime between March 16th-20th. Shoot some ideas my way! We've always enjoyed Teppan Edo, however I am leaning heavily towards Le Cellier

You might want to check out the menus for a few places online. Since Le Cellier has gone to being a signature restaurant they may have hiked their prices considerably. Whatever you decide, you might want to hop on the ressies pretty soon since you are only about 45 days out ~ you might have some difficulty getting in where you would like. Sounds like people on here have been favoring the Yachtsman for steak over Le Cellier as well.
