I've turned DH into a Disney nut! It all started when he joined us for the 1/2 marathon in '05, we had just started dating...he said Disney is where he fell in love with me. So what other place to honeymoon than Disney?! :D We're coming up on 3 years Nov. 18th. He found Subsonic and listens but he doesn't chat here on the forum much.

Being that you're in FL mindflipper, can you find yourself a Disney nut of your own? :D It's fun when you both share the same addiction.
Now that could be a great story for the weekly Disney Insider newsletter. I guess for the both of you, there really is some magic in the air at Disney! Congratulations to you two on coming up on three years! I have seen pictures from your previous trips, and you both make a great couple!

Thanks Jacca, we're praying for good weather too, actually some of our pictures were underwater.

This time it will be DH and I for a few days and then our good friend, who is like family will join us and then a few days later, my cousin and his girlfriend will join us! So, it should be a good time! We've never stayed at YC, so we're looking forward to this and all of the Christmas decorations!!!!!

Here you go: http://disney.go.com/inside/forms/story.html

It is great that we have such a tight knit community. It's really amazing how this site brought us all together.

Sadly, no. In fact, amongst my family and friends, I am the only "WDW nut" (actually, after 2 visits to Socal I'm a DL nut too). The "lone wolf". When I go in December, I will be going with 2 of my cousins. One of my cousins - poor boy - never went to the Disney theme-parks ever with his family! He did the MK with a school group, and did not go to EPCOT until he was 18! (I took him as a HS graduation present) Yes, I live in FL but it is surprising how many people so close by (only 2.5 hour drive south) aren't into the WDW parks... :?:

And this has been only way I can find people who share my love of the WDW/DL themparks, Len!

I'm so sorry to hear that mindflipper. But, you never know who is waiting for you out there...when I met my DH he was not a Disney nut, but I converted him! :D You too can make someone a Disney nut!!!! You don't have to be alone here!!! There is plenty of Disney to go around here! We understand eachother and this is just one big happy support group. I have no desire to recover. I think we're all just fine the way we are!!!

Mindflipper, remember if you keep at them you will draw them into the Disney zone!

Babe and Len, you two are so right we do have a very tight community here. Sometimes it feels so good to know there is a place like this!

Being there at Christmas time is awesome :D I went a couple of years ago in the middle of December. It was strange being in disney and the weather was hot and in shorts and short sleeve. By the end of the trip a cold front came and it felt like christmas. The christmas party disney had was awesome. At that time they were given a free 5x7 pic for free. I want to go again someday :donald:

It's with a heavy heart that I say, we're back. :( It was a wonderful vacation! We lucked out with the weather! It was gorgeous, we only had rain the day we were leaving. We met up with the Mousekecouple twice, which was great! So glad we got to put faces with the names!!!

I will post a trip report later today which will include pictures. Missed all of you! I'm going to need some support in the coming weeks. Coming home from WDW is like hitting a brick wall. I don't even want to think about work tomorrow.

Welcome back boiler squared! I hope you both had a great time and enjoyed your stay at my beloved Yacht Club. Can't wait to see the trip report!

This won't be as detailed as Len's trip report, but I will give highlights of our trip and share some pictures! :D

We arrived on Thurs. Dec. 10th, it was 3 degrees when we left Chicago, brrrr! It was chillier than we had hoped in WDW. There was an accident on the freeway heading to the Yacht Club, so we just sat for 45 mins! Finally we arrived at the YC! We were greeted by name and taken up to club level to check in! We were really impressed with the YC, the newly remodeled rooms are beautiful and so is the entire resort, I see why you love it here Len! We settled in and headed over to meet our Subsonic friends, the Mousekecouple! We had a drink at the Big River Grill on the Boardwalk and then had dinner with them as well at the Flying Fish! We hit it off great, they're alot of fun to be around! :D

Fri. Dec. 11, We headed to DHS, it was chilly and overcast on this day, but it didn't stop our fun! We were lucky to get Fast Passes for TSM, and were able to ride most of the attractions! We had lunch ADR's at our fav. Sci-Fi. Then we headed back to the YC, freshened up and headed to MK for MVMCP! There's something so magical about MK, especially at Christmas! The Christmas party was sold out, so it was more crowded than we would've liked. We weren't able to ride SM on this night, it was closed, technical difficulties. But, we did ride TTA (I don't care for the new spiel)POTC, BTM and HM! We also tried something new this time, the Fireworks Dessert Party! I highly recommend this, you get special seating for the fireworks and the desserts are amazing! We also enjoyed the Christmas parade and snow on Main St.

Sat. Dec. 12 We spent our day at Epcot. Got fast passes for Soarin and we decided to try the Behind the Seeds Tour at The Land and we really enjoyed it! Our guide, Austin, is an intern from Purdue! What are the odds? After Soarin we enjoyed lunch at Seasons then it was time for pictures with one of the Fab 5 for being a Disney Visa cardholder. We got Minnie and Goofy again! Rode Spaceship Earth, walked around World Showcase then it was time to head back to our resort. Our good friend, Tim, was meeting us at the Beach Club, we had ADR's for the Clam Bake at Cape May's. We really enjoyed it!!!!

We were thrilled to catch Donald in Mexico!
Image

Sun. Dec. 13 We took it easy in the morning, went by the pool for a bit then I had a massage and DH took advantage of the "Ship Shape" fitness center. Later in the day we headed to DHS since they were having Extra Magic Hours that evening. We also wanted to catch Osborne Family Lights! It was more spectacular than I remember, the show has definitely grown! Pictures and video do not do it justice! We rode our favorties as well, ToT and RnR! We stayed until park close, of course!

Mon. Dec. 14 It was a sunny, warm and gorgeous day so we decided to enjoy the morning by Stormalong Bay! We snuck our friend, Tim, in shhhhhh!!!!! You were right Len, if you enter in together, it works! We loved the slide and the sand bottom. I love my Polynesian, but the YC has it beat when it comes to the pool! Did I just say that?! We had 4:00 ADR's for Cinderella's Castle. I haven't been there since I was 6 and DH and Tim had never been! We really enjoyed it, the food was great! We enjoyed POTC, Swiss Family Treehouse, Jungle Cruise (our guide was great!) SM, TTA and the Speedway! We were pretty happy with the SM refurb. The interactive games a little distracting when it's time for the line to move. The ride itself seemed alot smoother and it's super dark in there now! I give it two thumbs up! 8-) We saw Spectro Magic and of course enjoyed a Dole Whip!

Tues. Dec. 15 This day we took to relax! We spent most of the day at Stormalong Bay, it was another warm and sunny day! 8-) We also mini golfed at Fantasia Gardens and visited the Poly (broke my heart) watched the light parade and fireworks on the beach! We walked over the GF, we saw the new Italian Marble floors that are going in, WOW! We shared a pizza and Gasparella. Beautiful evening!

Wed. Dec. 16 We headed to Epcot, we wanted to enjoy the WS more and we also had Dive Quest on this day. We did the American Adventure, which is something I haven't done in years! We enjoyed fish and chips in the United Kingdom and pastries in France! Our dive was fantastic, that never gets old, I would enjoy a 2 hour dive instead of 40 mins. One of the stingrays is expecting pups and is due any day! One of their turtles, Fat Bastard is his name, is still in a time out. He needs to learn not to bite the sharks tails at feeding time! After the dive DH had reserved us seats in Mexico, we had dinner there and watched Illuminations! WOW!

Dive Quest (good thing we didn't need these wet suits for the parks this time!) I dove with Tim, I'm still trying to get DH to try diving, so far, I've not been successful!
Image

Thurs. Dec. 17 We headed to MK to try and do the things we wanted to one last time. We had ADR's at the Plaza, we really enjoyed it! None of us had ever eaten there. The food was good and it's quant. We did get on SM again and Buzz Lightyear. It sprinkled on us this day, but we didn't need the ponchos, so that made us happy! We did some shopping on Main St. had one last Dole Whip  And headed to DHS! We lucked out b/c as we entered DHS someone handed us Fast Passes for TSM! We went over to ToT and somoene handed us FP's for ToT! We were thrilled since the parks were a little more crowded than we would've liked. We even saw Luxor Jr. I was so excited since every time we visisted DHS, I was told he was not coming out! So this was an unexpected surprise!!

Fri. Dec. 18 Leaving is alway such a sad day. It was raining in the morning when we woke up, pretty hard. We got ready anyway and by the time we were heading out, the rain had let up! We went over to DHS, met up with the Mousekecouple again, and were able to ride ToT and RnR together! They had lunch with an Imagineer, so we had to say good-bye. :( We rode ToT one more time and then headed to Epcot. We wanted to have lunch in Mexico one last time and say good-bye. After that it was time to head back to YC to catch the Magical Express. Although on the way back to the airport I think it should be called the Un-Magical Express.

It was a wonderful vacation, the weather was great and we were happy to meet some fellow Subsonic friends. We enjoyed the YC and staying club level. The lounge area was fantastic. Our only disappointment was that my cousin and his girlfriend were supposed to meet us for a few nights, but my cousin being a pilot, had to fly unexpectedly. Returning home is hard, we hope to return to WDW soon! Until then, I will rely on Subsonic and all of you to get me through. :)

Man, you both got a lot accomplished in a short time! Seemed like a detail trip report to me. Although, when did you get your dole whip? Is the dessert party something exclusive to the MVMCP, or is available anytime? And where is the dessert party? I gotta go now, those pictures of the dessert has got me hungry. I wonder what unhealthy thing I have around the house I can snack on...

Thanks for the report; sounds like y'all had a great time! I'm glad you enjoyed Cinderella's restaurant; I want to take Future Gal there for our anniversary next year. I heard dreadful reports about the high crowd levels while y'all were there; hope that didn't impact your enjoyment at all.

Glad you made it back home safely!
