restore the original JII in the Imagination Pavilion and put a new Horizons attraction in the abandoned WOL Pavilion. The WOL Pavilion is sitting empty, used maybe a couple times a year. There is more space in the WOL Pavilion (if gutted) then Imagination and would bring attention to a somewhat ignored corner of Future World.
GENIUS!!
That would leave no one out!

Plus have a updated Horizons, I did love Horizons but it did need a updated. I would like to bring back the old voices for the characters. Not sure if they could.

if they could update like they did with HM. With out loosing the original ride.

Excellent plan agingerbugg!

I can't believe it's already been 10 years since the original Figment left us. Hope Disney takes some action to bring him back! :figment:

Speaking of the Wonders of Life pavilion, I went in there this past Monday night. It was open for the Food & Wine fest. Besides three cast members I was the ONLY person in there. To be fair, however, there were no food/wine functions happening when I went in.

Still, it was sad to see my beloved Cranium Command all boarded up. I took some pics with my phone - I'll upload them and share the links soon.

The Food & Wine events were probably not starting till later in the evening. They still have some shops in there too...at least they did last year..selling books and stuff about things I could care less to remember. I was too busy mourning Wonders of Life
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

Rain upon that planet Earth. And they rain ... and rain ... and rain. The deluge.

They had a little gift shop and a wine display but it was a ghost town!

We went in a couple of times last week when there was actual F&W stuff going on and it was pretty crowded in there. Lots of people in a great big line for ... I have no idea what as I wasn't interested in any of the 'celebrity chefs' or whatever.

I took a bunch of pictures as we wandered around, too. It was kind of depressing. I was happy to see they still had the pretty mobile up at the center of the roof, though. I need to upload my pics.

I still can't believe that they got rid of that pavilion. I used to have so much fun there going on Body Wars and playing on the fitness bikes. It was sad to see that half the CM's when I went there didn't even understand what my family and I were talking about when we asked about it. According to everything I read, Body Wars has been removed. It was one of those great attractions that you could always get on.

I really like agingerbug's idea of converting the WOL pavilion into a new Horizons. It definitely has the space, although my personal preference, if money were no object, would be to knock it down and rebuild the original Horizons pavilion on that spot.

Regarding Journey Into Imagination, it's sad that its demise was basically caused by the same kind of imaginationless corporate decision-making process that led to New Coke, the Pontiac Aztek, and that movie that starred Vanilla Ice.

Of course, having been subjected to TV commercials for the High School Musical movie, I fear that it may displace the Vanilla Ice movie at the top of the Big List O' Theatrical Atrocities.

I agree whole heartedly, the building was as much a part of the attraction as the show inside was. We need to stage a coup and take over WDI. Viva la Revolcion!

Replace JII with an abbreviated version of Horizons.

Now before you revolt, think about it for a few minutes...

...There's not enough space:
Well, not for the whole 20+ minute original, but many key scenes can be fit within the ride layout, especially if you bring back the old load/unload track portions that have been covered up in the recent incarnation. Additionally, the stop/start nature of the current ride could be used to add time to the experience, or have the ride move through some scenes in creep mode and normal speed through others.

...It's the wrong theme:
This has been the challenge with creating a physical manifestation of a theme like Imagination. But it could be argued that Horizons was an imaginative look at future living. Plus the "looking back" segment was all about imagination.

...It's Dreamfinder and Figment's home:
So make them the new hosts. Start the ride with animatronic versions as an introduction, then have Dreamfinder narrate with Figment throwing in comic relief.

...What would you call it?
Horizons. But instead of the former Horizons being its own pavilion this would be a show within the larger Imagination pavilion.

People, I think this could work. What do you think?
Sorry Horizons1 but as much as I loved Horizons I don't think it would or even could work. I don't want some cheap knock off Horizons to try to squeeze into the building. I also don't think resurrecting a dead attraction can be a particularly slippery slope as you're talking about investing millions to essentially bring back an old, out-dated attraction. Horizons may be timeless in the minds of long-time fans of WDW, but I can't really see Disney putting up Horizons on any billboards around Kissimmee anytime soon as, unless you're a fan of old EPCOT Center, you probably won't be attracted to it as you would a flashy ride like Soarin', M:S, or Test Track. Also, I think booting a newer (albeit an abomination) attraction for an extinct one in the imagination pavillion lacks a little...well, Imagination. I miss Horizons, WoM, JII as much as the next guy but I just don't think it's the right direction. Plus, Disney would never consider doing it, no matter how many wishes upon a star or dashes of pixie dust we may employ. Sorry to be an Eeyore.

EDIT: Whoops, didn't see this whole other page! The WoL idea is much better, alas a boy can dream...
