Happy Holidays gang. Having been to both DL and WDW and seen both versions of POTC-pre Jack Sparrow-I have to say that DL's version is my number one choice; and not just because I live closer to DL. Although, like practically everybody else at this point in time I do wish the company would be a little more gracious and update EVERY aspect of the ride and not just throw us a bone to keep us quiet. On a side note: a special mention should be given to EuroDisney's Pirates if only for the fact that at the time it was built they WERE able to bring in the latest technology and make the original story seem fresh. Well, enjoy yourselves, peace.

Haven't actually been to Anahiem. But, Tokyo has the Blue Bayou as well with the long intro. I agree with a previous post about the drops being better. So, i said I loved them both, but maybe Disneyland is better. At least longer...

Discomick, the Blue Bayou is the coolest thing! It reminds me of the Mexican restuarant in Mexico at EPCOT.

mageloff, I agree. My kids loved sitting next to the boat ride in Mexico while we ate. The Tokyo Blue Bayou was just as much of a cool experience for them as well...

Discomick, I can't say what makes that so cool, but it sure is! Another place that is really cool that over looks the ride is the Land Grill. Family style meals in a rotating restuarant o'top the Land boat ride. Another favorite of ours!

I like the Disneyland version better, probably because that's what I grew up with. The first time I went on WDW's version, which is some 6 minutes shorter, I was left saying "Is that it?" The WDW version just doesn't have as good a pacing or structure as the Disneyland version - it feels too rushed.

saritajuanita, I agree - sometimes the first is the best as it is in this case!

I also vote for the Disneyland version. They both do seem pretty similar to each other, but Disneyland does have that extra drop.

I would like to go to DL and try that version. Well, here's to saving for another Disney trip!

I think Disneyland's wins for the bayou and the other extras, but I like the pacing of WDW's Pirates better. There was too much dead space on the Disneyland Pirates (and it's a small world) for me.
Maybe they've plastered Mr. Depp all over the dead space now...my information is out of date.

DL's version gets my vote. From the beginning bayou to the grand battle between the fort and the Wicked Wench, I've always liked that portion which is DL-exclusive. WDW has a better queue, though.

I've only been to DL once, but I will always compare WDW's POTC with DL's version. Must be that second drop!!

Two drops are better than one!

I love Pirates at WDW, but, alas my vote is biased because I have never been to Disneyland. I have heard a great deal about it from my family members who have been there, and I wish I could see it. The bayou sounds really neat.

I have yet to try the WDW version but I doubt it will replace the DLR one for me.
