Wow. That's going to be a lot of young adults there! Anyone know if it makes a difference in the parks?

I'm sure it does make a difference and I'm glad I will be missing that. I'm hoping that going the last week in February will help me to avoid these events as well as the President's Day weekend/week crowd. Sounds like it's going to be pretty busy anyway though.

Oh, GhostHost, that's right.... you're headed there soon! Sorry, I forgot. Anyway, I hope you miss those crowds. For others that are going during these events, I wonder if you can get a copy of the groups' itineraries and plan to hit busy attractions at the parks when you know the groups aren't going to be free.

Here we go again. We have 21 days 8 hours 54 minutes till we arrive at Walt Disney World. With the economy the way it is, maybe it won't be so crowded.

It is a possibility. From what I've been hearing, Disney is taking a hit from the poor economy. It does make sense since a trip to Disney is considered a luxury good.

With the economy, we shouldn't be going either. Work is slow here. It's all going on the credit card. Don't know when we will be able to go again. My daughter is going away to college, so this may be our last time with her, ( I hope not). My son is grown and can't go with us, because of work schedules. So I figured, what the heck, just another bill, but a life time of "Magical" memories.

ericpabear, I say if you can swing it, go with it! That's what we did with our last trip, we weren't sure when we could go again, so we just went for it. If you have the Disney Visa card they will give you 6 mos. interest free to pay off your Disney vacation! Provided you stay on property. Just a suggestion for you!!! I hope you go and enjoy the time with your family! :D

Great news!!! Didn't know that about the Disney Visa card. We have it also, (Day 1). We spend the points for souvenirs at WDW. Merci beaucoup.

Also with the Disney Visa they will give you 15-20% off if you book tours ie. Dive Quest, Segway Tour etc.....of course you have to tell them it's a Disney Visa at the time you book it!!! AND did you know that if you go to EPCOT Innoventions West, they will take a picture of you and your family with one/several of the Fab. 5 characters and give you a free 5x7 picture! All with your Disney Visa, we did this on our last trip!!! I'd have to check on the times for you though, they offer it at two different times during the day. It's pretty cool b/c it's just you and characters, you wait in line and they take you and your family back behind the curtains for a photo shoot with the characters. I don't think may people know about this b/c there was hardly anyone there! :D We were so excited b/c it was Mickey himself and Pluto!

Eric, I think we're leaving on the exact same day, February 20th! I'm also a little concerned about the people who have Mardi Gras off and might make a trip to the World. I think we'll be ok, just stick to the basic touring rules. I'm trying to find out when the cheerleading nationals are.

usually, when the Pop Warner tournaments are - end of November/early December (at least, that may be the prelims or something). there were swarms of them (cheerleaders) when Dr. Ravenscroft and I went down in December 2006.
