@ BuDz211--- try this. go ahead and prepurchase your trading fodder pins... then you do not have to keep buying expensive trading starter packs... ebay has some good buys there

I'll be on the look out for you. I had one PPF FP pin for about two weeks before I traded it for the broken Monorail Red.

Speaking of Monorails, found Orange today. Traded another Purple I found today as well for it (actually, since I already had two Monorail pins, I let them choose which color they wanted in the trade).

I plan on spending $100 on my next trip to WDW on pins. They will probably be souvenirs based on the trip. For example, if we say at Pop Century, I'll buy a Pop Century pin. If we go in December, I'll buy some Christmas pins, etc. I'm hoping for a good score.
I really like the Epcot/Horizons pin - very cool.

The only caveat that I can say about buying from eBay is buyer beware. A lot of the big lots contain mainly fake pins and are a hindrance to the pin trading community. Which the pin trading community calls "scrappers." A Scrapper pin is an unauthorized pin. Many of the molds Disney uses to make pins are not destroyed after the creation of its pin order, and bootlegs are created. This practice has flooded the Disney parks and secondary markets like eBay with cheap imitations, mostly of Cast lanyard pins and mystery release pins. Some are sold on eBay or found in the parks before the real pins are even released.

Usually if it sounds too good to be true on ebay, it usually is.

allright i'll add a caveat then: stick with reputable Disney pin trading companies (sleepy's is my preferred) and they also do the large pin packs(i even got a few that i needed to fill the ranks of my keepers)

I enjoyed looking at ya'll's pictures! One thing I've always liked about collecting overall is that everyone's collection has a different personality. Really neat to see what people like!

I had completely forgotten to take pics of my pins since I ended up being MIA from here for over a year; I'll have to do that soon.

I traded more last year, but I can't say I'm a huge fan of that. Am I the only one who has a hard time trading? I generally just look out for Donald and Wilderness Lodge pins because I don't like dealing with the scrapper issue, and they aren't very easy to find. I think I came back with about 6 pins left over that I didn't find anything to trade for. And I only bought maybe 15 or so to take with me.

My kids collect and trade. They never have a problem. Of course, they probably aren't that picky either.

A question for pin collectors: how do you store your excess pins? Their lanyards are getting too heavy!
