Nope the stage show was all they came up with. But it would have been considered its own area and not apart of dinoland.

So, I love this musical. But I also realized how much I like listening to the live recording of the musical on here because you can hear all the reactions to the awesome effects like Nigel.

We saw this attraction on our last visit. DD4 (at the time) LOVED this. We sang the music "In the Big, Blue World" all throughout the vacation. The music is very good and the puppetry and presentation is excellent. This is a must-see attraction.

But Nemo has a much-more sentimental feeling to me. When my daughter was around 7 months old, we were shopping at Toys 'R Us. I was holding my daughter when she began kicking, pointing and saying 'Mo. Mo.' We looked around and there was a Nemo poster. That was the first thing she told us she liked. Needless, we've seen the movie at least 200 times. Still, everytime I hear the music, I cry. And I cried at the attraction, as well. (I was holding my daughter in my arms.)

My goodness, I just love WDW!!!!! And I love sharing it with my girls!!!!!
I gotta say this is an awesome story! It's things like this that make me remember the power of Disney Magic. Thanks for sharing.

My wife loved the show. Of course she loved the film, I thought the film was so so. As I did think of the stage show. Different tastes like you all said. Also agree with many of you who stated they "forced songs" into a songless film. The thing is, not everything works as a stage show. It may have been a good idea at the time but it wasn't what I was hoping for.

BUT... I did think the theater itself was pretty impressive.

Second, did you ever wonder why there was a dragon head over one of the ticket booths, or a dragon in the logo? The stage was originally going to be for a mythical creatures show. The creatures cost too much to build so they used it for the jungle book and tarzan shows and the current finding nemo show.
I heard that the coaster that is now Dueling Dragons at Islands of Adventure at Universal was originally in development for Disney, but for some reason, it didn't all come together. Could just be a rumor, but who knows for sure?

I can't say I've requested any. But I really enjoyed the show. Festival of the Lion King as well. And I'm the kind of guy who usually isn't a big show person.

Oh, and we are big on Nemo in our house. In fact I am lectured on any kind of seafood by my 8 year old anytime I even consider ordering any. "Fish are friends and not FOOD dad!"

Okay I'll admit my friend has requested some of the Nemo and we both love it!!! That show had me spellbound and I think I might have sat there with my mouth hanging open the entire time! It was amazing to me how much I didn't notice the people on stage that they never detracted me from the show. It is fabulously done at Disney and I for one will definitely go to see it again!

My husband and I were not looking to go to this show. We were walking by to get to Expedition Everest when the show was letting people in and it was REALLY HOT. We went into the theater and both loved the show. It isn't all about the music. It is about the puppets, effects and staging. Amazing. (Of course, now that I have seen it, the music, like all music on Subsonicradio, takes me back to the amazing show.)

I cant say that Finding Nemo the musical is my favorite attraction at Disney. I will admit that the imagineers did do a phenomenal job turning a non musical movie into a broadway-esque type of show. I think its something that I would do on ever few trips (only because I live so close). I dont think I would make the attempt to see it everytime I go to DAK.

We love the show and the music! My daughter was 3 when she first saw it and a month later asked us to sing "Gil's Song" to her. We had no idea of the words until until she started singing "Together...we swim together". We started laughing and imediately went to itunes to download the all the songs!

It is a must see everytime we go to Animal Kingdom!

SWHorn wrote:Personally, I hated it. Someone would have to literally drag me back in there to get me to watch it again. I loved the movie, but most certainly did not like the musical.

That's just my opinion, though. Other people obviously like it. :)

I totally agree with u. The show was also to long for me. I was like a kid askin how much longer? This is borin. When r we leaven? The movie was so much better. Never again for me. Once was enough. :nemo:

I still not have been talked into seeing Nemo. I have heard the music more and would like to say I'm further away than the day I started this.

I am sorry you feel that way. It really is a great show.

I like Finding Nemo but my husband doesn't care for it...I guess he doesn't like how the puppeteers are visible. He falls asleep every time!

The musical was ok. Followed the movie well enough, but it's not something I'd sit through more than once a trip, if that often.
