I voted early this morning and waited from 6:30 till the polls opened. After they opened at 7am, I got through in less than ten minutes. The lines were long after me though. What a thrilling experience!

I voted this morning, and then called the Starbucks down from our office to see if they are one of the participating locations to give a free cup, she said yes, show your sticker. I told her that I voted but my precinct didnt give out stickers and she said I needed something to "prove" I voted. And I also told her that the email I got from Starbucks does not state you need to bring in anything. She said sorry you have to have something to prove you voted.
I was ticked! So I bought my own dang coffee this morning
and told her there is nothing stated about having to "prove" I voted.

That sucks! Then again I don't like Starbucks so I have no say....maybe my best friend and I could go visit the Starbucks where our other best friend works and get something from her. I'm going in a little bit with my mom since our voting place is at my sisters' school. I'm actually really excited since it's my first time voting.

I just got back from voting about 20 minutes ago. I was able to walk right in and into the booth. The most time-consuming thing was the poll worker trying to find my name in the book for me to sign. outside of that, it went very smoothly. I was in and out within about 10 minutes total (about 7 of those were the woman trying to find my name). when I was done, there was no one else waiting.

Hmmm, that doesn't sound right. Does New York have early voting? Florida has early voting for, I think, two weeks prior to the election. I voted last week to avoid the lines. I know when I drove into work this morning the two polling locations I passed had lines out the doors at about 7:45.js3901 wrote:I just got back from voting about 20 minutes ago. They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

I'm not sure if there's early voting in NY. I don't think there is. the polls are open from 6:00 AM until 9:00 PM. I live in a small suburb of Buffalo, NY, so there aren't a TON of voters in our area. alot of people work in the retail and industrial sectors, so many people are still working. I'm off today, so I could go when I wanted. Alot of our community is older (I think they estimated something like 47% is retired persons) and they voted earlier this morning...

Yes I voted today. I wasn't working until 4 so I went around 1pm to vote which is good since I live in a nice rural neighborhood so the only people voting around that time are college kids like myself and older people. The rush hour crowd wouldnt be for another few hours. Just like JS3901 said earlier, the longest part was trying to find my name.
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

First What a tight race in the Senatorial race in Minnesota, between Coleman and Franken.Esmeralda wrote:I voted early this morning and waited from 6:30 till the polls opened. Coleman (R): 1,210,940
Franken (D): 1,210,370
Barkley (I): 437,186
A VERY tight race, and I believe it is being recounted as we speak.
Secondly, I voted after work. I got home at 6pm and went out immediately, I love how in PA no one is supposed to wear campaign buttons, stickers, hats, etc. yet many of the people in the polling station had them on.........and before you say it YES I reported it, and in other areas various people would stand outside polling stations in semi Military Garb looking VERY intimidating......not doing anything, just standing there. A reporter started to film one guy and he became rather belligerent. He was removed, but another man showed up no more than 30 minutes later in the same attire.
But I do have to say that out of all the elections I have been apart of in the past 9 years I have to say this was the most.......tiring.
