When are the best times to visit with young children?
Looking toward the future we want to take my daughter when she is 5. When is a good time to go to WDW so the weather is agreeable and the lines aren't horrible.
My last three trips have been in Dec. or Aug. I would not want my little girl to experience Disney the first time in that madhouse of crowds.

I love the middle two weeks of May - after spring breaks and before the majority of schools let out for summer. Mostly full park staffing, but relatively few guests. Makes for short lines, great service, and happy children. Usually, the temperatures are also high enough for swimming, but not so hot that it's hard to spend the days at parks.
To do the improbable, we first have to dream the impossible.

I only picked November because 10a.m. wasn't available. September for the free dining. lack of crowds...but realistically November was our best trip...humidity is low weather is warm crowds are sparse. downside. usually repairs are being done and alot of the small disney charm isn't running (not as many characters at disney hollywood studios, barbarshop guys, etc.)
question: December isn't listed? um...i guess thats not a choice? laugh

I don't seem to be able to go to WDW any other time but June, July or August, but I always have a good time. Our last visit was with grandchildren, 3 and 5 years old, and we stayed for 9 days. You can have a great vacation in the summertime! But, you have to take it easy and at the child's pace. I heartily recommend naps in the afternoon anytime you have little ones along; it makes the evenings much more pleasant! Don't forget the sunscreen. Little ones burn in the Florida sun all year round. Maybe someday, I'll get to go for halloween!
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

I've been to Disney in every month except February - my favorite time is two weeks before Christmas followed super closely by the first two weeks in May when the weather is gorgeous and the crowds are light.

Every trip to WDW has been magical, and we prefer the spring.
But one of the best trips we ever had was in January. We had to take our son out of school for 2 days, but our daughter wasn't in school yet.
The weather was fantastic, and the longest wait we had in 4 days was 15 minutes.

I think Sept or Jan - Feb, before presidents day. The crowds are not bad in Sept but the heat and humidity can be bad. They say right after New Year it is really good. Both times are during school, so you would have to decide if taking her out is an ooption.

We usually go last two weeks in August, sometimes it's been quiet (Bad weather) and other times quite manic eg free dining! My kids have coped very well with both, our first trip was when my daughter was 2 and a half and my son 6. Don't get too hung up just go with the flow and ENJOY YOURSELVES!!!!!
