the old imagination was SOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN THE NEW one, if you have noticed yet, the old one always had a line but the new one never has a line, even during peak season!!!! i hate the new imagination

Has it really been that long? Wow... time does fly.

I thought that Test Track went down for an extensive rehab after it opened, because they were experiencing bad downtimes and burning through tires like crazy. Is that true? Anyone else remember that?

Mission Space is an amazing attraction but I'd love to still have Horizons around - loved the smell of oranges and just a nostalgic attraction for me having ridden it growing up as a kid. :(

The last time I was at disney was in December of '99 so I have yet to see Mission Space, and the last I saw Imagination, they hadn't put figmant back into it. Even with figmant I don't know if it could be as good as it was, I mean there's no Dreamfinder. I did really like the Test Track, I thought that Disney did a great job with that one. Horizons was closed when I was there preparing for Mission Space. Horizons was a great ride, and I really miss it, although I think putting a true Thrill ride in it's place can only help EPCOT grow. But wouldn't it have been nice if they were able to add MS w/o taking anything out. But last of all, out of all the old rides that have been changed the one I miss the most is the Original Universe of Energy. It's ok with Ellen and Bill Nye, but it's missing the music and the end laser show that made the old one so great. I've been going through old home movies to see if I can find the whole ride on there, including movies. If I can, I'm going to try to record the sound out so maybe we can get it uploaded. But that was by far my favorite old ride at EPCOT.

Tough question! I like Horizons & JII. I like the smell of oranges in Horizons & the fact that you could pick the ending, but JII wins my vote.

Mission Space and Test Track are great, but I do miss World of Motion and Horizons.

Its not any better with Figmant in it. Though I didnt see it post-redo/pre-figmant...Ive seen the post-redo/post figmant...and its sucks.

Its actually rather boring now, and quite uninspiring

Sea and Land Ending

Post by Fantasrick » Jul Sat 02, 2005 12:32 pm

The endings were essenstially the same, you arrive at your destinations the Seabase and Mesa Verde, the sequences just followed (that is tracked behind) the models of the vehicles seen earlier in the ride, using the same technology as the trench battle sequence in Star Wars. That is they used motion controlled cameras travelling over a large model.

I always enjoyed Journey into Imagination, and after the ride ended it didn't really end. I mean, they had really amazing hands on stuff at the end. Remember the tunnel of lights you passed through?

I always thought Figment could be the next big Disney character because he was so cute for adults AND children. Representing a "figment" of your imagination was a remarkable idea.

Horizons was cool in a educational not bore you way. I too wish there was a way to build new rides, and not get rid of the others. Disney himself always said the parks would continue to GROW as long as there is imagination left in the world.
