I worked there for over 5 years, and I still love it! It laid a great foundation for my future as a teacher...how to give customer service, etc. I love the memories I made there, especially meeting my hubby, who would vote differently than I.

We do love it now because our kids are head over heels in love with it.

We worked in foods....He worked at King Stephan's, Crystal Palace, and Tony's Town Square, where we met.

I still love Walt Disney World but I have to admit that my eyes are more open now after knowing some of the tricks & trades of backstage. I'll admit that I've become more of a prick now when I see a cast member who displays bad show when I was not working but then I would also be hard on myself too whenever I displayed bad show so maybe thats just me.

I still want to visit Disney, if anything, working down there for 4 months really makes me want to continue visiting Disney at least once a year (before I worked there, it used to be every 2 years). I also am working there seasonaly so I hope to stay in touch with the company for as long as possibile.
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

I was a Merchandise CM at WDW for 16 months and transferred to The Disney Store after I moved. Three Disney Stores in all, after 3 moves to 3 different states. I have my 10-year pin and plaque, and they are among my most treasured possessions! I resigned shortly before the Stores were sold.

I'd love to work at the parks again at some point and I still love touring WDW. Best decision I made was to purchase DVC while still a CM!

There are some former CMs that post on the Dis and they are VERY defensive if anybody says anything negative about Disney, so I would take that as a yes! ;)

I loved everyday I was there, really, I never had a bad day at work! There are too many good things that happen everyday, too many smiles to not enjoy it. I went to the parks almost everyday, and saw Spectromagic every night for a few months. I never grew tired of anything I just fell more in love with it. Sometimes just watching the reactions of people is rewarding. For example my friend (also a CM) and I were in Disney Hollywood Studios during Star Wars Weekend last year. We were fighting with our lightsabers on New York Street, and an elder couple walked by, started to laugh and then out of the blue the man turned around picked up his cane, said "AH HA" and started fighting with us LOL!! He had become five years old again, it was amazing!

To make a long story short I still LOVE WDW yes! :mickey: :minnie:
What job did you have doing the College Program - especially where you could watch Spectromagic everynight when you went to the parks?

When you say you work there "seasonally" do you mean in the summer?

Seasonal means I can work anytime within the next year from the last day I worked there in January. Bascially whenever I give them an e-mail when I plan to be down there, and they will put me on the schedule. Then I would have a year from that day to work there again (if I dont then I am taken out of the system) and I have to be rehired again.

I believe so. This I think makes people want to come to WDW. The cast members dont act like they have been doing the same thing for years. Some amusement parks the employees act like they are bored out of their minds.

i was a cp fall 07 through jan 08, and i still love everything disney! im seasonal now and went back for my spring break. i only had to work one day, and then spent five playing in the parks. it was great! everyone im still in contact with from my program still loves disney also, and they all wish they could go back. there is just something really cool about being bored and saying to yourself," i think ill go ride space mountain now."

I am a former cast member and I still love WDW. I worked part time from 1995 - 2000. I still keep my Seasonal Passport and go back as often as I can. I love the place and cannot get enough.
