Ok, so I've been on it. The ride is pretty much the same from the Load up to the two kids playing on their computer...which has been replaced by something different. But I seriously doubt everything is done. There is no music in the Space scene at the very top. And yes...the decent is HORRIBLE. I don't want to give anything away...but there is literally NOTHING to give away.
edit: the vehicles are exactly the same, they just have touch screens now

I was excited about the "revamp", but I'm not hearing too many good things about the decent portion of the ride. I hope they have more that they plan to do before the official unveiling.FlatlandMounty wrote:Ok, so I've been on it. I just got back as well from WDW and we were fortunate enough to get to ride SSE! We were told in the morning that they would open it during the day for a couple of hours - but no one knew at what time. We wandered the park and were leaving in the afternoon for a break and it was open! A lot of the ride was the same with the new narration, just the ending had changed. Still a great one though!

Exact same thing happened to me (twice actually) this trip. Friday we missed by about 15 minutes, Monday we missed by an hour or two. So disappointed - I may just go ahead and watch the videos as I don't know when we'll be back at Epcot. We did mess around in the post-ride area, though. The 'put the body together' demo thing was pretty entertaining (especially if you're a Wally Shawn fan, which I am).bbowen13 wrote:I just got back from WDW and the time I was in EPCOT SSE was not open. Talking with one of the cast members they had opened it for an hour the day before (Thursday). Hate that I missed it on this trip

Opening is not until February. They are still working on the decent which is why there are "curtains" up. Should be much better than it is now. This is coming from an immagineer that is working on it.From what I've heard, they're pretty much finished with the rehab. It supposedly reopened yesterday.

Hey everyone, I just had a friend go to Disney for four days of vacation and he was lucky enough to be able to ride SpaceShip Earth!! Can You believe it? He said he just walked in with his family and they just happened to be passing SE when the construction wall opened and they waved several people in, and his family was one of the lucky ones!!
He told me all about it and between his wife and himself they had mixed reviews! Should I post what they said here, or in another topic?
