I'm a Park Greeter at MGM. Once the park closes we get to don our Mickey hands and walk out into the park a bit and run around saying goodbye to people as they leave the park.

Isn't that the best part of the job? When everyone looks at you with a smile on their face when they see you with the Mickey hands? Do you make sure that you say High-4 to guests when they want to slap hands with you?

Not necessarily. I don't post about all those exciting 6 hour shifts where I just stand at the turnstile and do absolutely nothing except fix tickets that aren't being read and give a quick greeting to people as they whiz by. Ideally I'd like to be able to move around a bit and talk to guests more, at the very least I'd like one of those. During most shifts though, I get neither.

That's one thing about custodial, you get relative freedom to move about. That's what I loved about it. You really shouldn't, but you could walk to different areas and chat with a lot of cast members- while doing your job of course.

Also, you can kind of go at your own pace.

This is going to sound kinda silly, but thats one of the reasons I love to get the Sweep assignment. Usually people just give water breaks, but I actually get the broom and pan and sweep our area. I enjoy walking around a bit and not having to deal with the non-English speaking families who can't figure the tickets out and are getting angry with me because of it.

When we were there in December last year, we spent ALOT of time in the parks, and (at least I) didn't really notice the Christmas loop(s). Even during the EMH, I didn't really notice it. The only time was right after park closing while we were meandering back to the gates.

Now, it may be different when you're forced to listen to it for a 10 hour shift. so I can't really speak for that, but at least from the guest perspective, it didn't seem so bad spending the entire day in the parks...

I never really noticed the loop at the front entrance of MGM either, until I had to stand there for 6-8 hours.

Lion and I met last night at EPCOT when I was working Morocco Streets. We talked for a while and it was a lot of fun!

And yes the globe does make lots of sense! I feel so much better knowing about it now too.

Yep, the globe during IllumiNations. There's a story to all the images and stuff.

Derek explained it to me.

@Packwingfn: Wow, and I still can't get over the fact that you guys have night detail. That's crazy. It was nice to finally meet up with you.
