Haunted Mansion for Halloween?

Post by disneylandmom » Sep Fri 21, 2007 4:31 pm

I was wondering if it would be possible for you to play haunted mansion tracks for halloween? ( maybe on the scheudule stream?) I thought it would be cool to have the haunted mansion playing while answering the door for all the trick or treaters. Just an idea, I know it's kinda silly.

Brilliant! I love the idea of having it on for trick or treaters during Halloween day, especially on the Scheduled stream, as it should be pretty easy to implement too!

I think Sub did that last year, too... played HM, Boo to You parade, etc, all day, if I recall correctly. A repeat this year would be great!

I don't think we had a full day of Halloween tracks, I don't think we even did a full day of Christmas tracks (and we have twice as many of those)...

but, if these temporary programs could/will be done, that'd be cool...

That would be neat to hear as much of "all-day" as possible!

I havn't done the maths on the tracks but I think this idea depends on how long the loop would be :?

If it repeated every one and a half hours or so would it get annoying?

I dunno... Around here one and a half or two hours of spooky music would just about cover us for trick or treats. The kids tend to come in one big wave in the early evening and it's all over with by about 8. And if you didn't want to listen to it repeating all day, you could always listen to one of the other excellent streams.

see, the problem with Halloween is timezones. if we did a block "in the early evening", it would not be the same for everyone. what may be 8pm your time may be 8AM the next day somewhere else. in order for EVERYONE to have the same experience, we'd have to run the show for a full 24 hours...

That's true... Joe's point was that the loop would have to repeat in order to cover Halloween around the SR universe. My point was that people could tune in for a short period within that 24 hour span, listen to the loop as long as they wanted, and then switch to another stream once they'd had enough of "Boo To You."

This all is probably way too much work... just thinking "what if..."

I think we have atleast 3 hours worth of HM/Halloween stuff. That is if you include the WDW, DL, TDL, DLP, Parades and such. I think that having an entire day would be awesome. I will be working outside most of the day but I can hook up the speakers first and listen all day long.

Maybe it wasn't a scheduled thing; maybe there were just a lot of requests for the Halloween music that day... I do remember there being Halloween music on Halloween last year, though, even if it wasn't a full day.

I love the idea of a temporary Halloween loop and same thing for Christmas.

I feel that having just the scheduled stream switch to Haunted Mansion, etc. tracks for 24 hours on Halloween would be fine, as we have so many great streams if you get bored with it, you can switch over to Request, Background or Soarin' instead. I think the benefits would outweigh the negatives, as I think a lot of people would really enjoy this (me included)!
