Did we find my sister? Or was she the "1,000" ghost, disappearing as silently as the family on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror? Find out in part 5 of this long-drawn out series!
wow, 50s cliffhanger, much?

great story so far. I need to get out to DLR to see/experience some of the things everyone talks about out there...

Thanks for the comments everyone! Feel free to continue commenting!

Part 5

Of course, we eventually found my sister who had been sitting farther away and hadn't bothered to come and tell us that she was still eating. She came to us after she had thrown her popcorn away. My mom was trying to calm her heart beat after worrying sick for five to seven minutes attempting to find her. So, we go to find out that Splash Mountain is still not working. Since we were over in that corner, we figured we might as well go on the Winnie the Pooh ride (the only other ride in Critter Country). I never remember there being a line for that ride. (Partly because it is out of the way and partly because it isn't anything astounding). We went on it a few times in a row. (I totally forgot to look for the heads of the bison, deer, and moose that used to be in Country Bear Jamboree. Supposedly they are hidden in the Heffalump and Woozles section of the ride. I only remembered after we came home from LA. Rats.) By that time, night had fallen and my dad and sister wanted to go on the Haunted Mansion. My sister (the one who had gone missing the last time we went on HM) of course did not want to go. We did not want to have to deal with another disappearing act, so my mom, my sister and I would go on Pirates of the Caribbean while my other sister and dad went on the Haunted Mansion. We realized there would be a bit of a problem the minute we got in the line. Since there are two separate lines for Pirates, you figure that getting inside would equal the same. Not so. We learned that the left line winds way back and comes forward before getting into the building. (Unfortunately for us, there was an awful smell coming from the ground as well. We think it must have been the sewer.) Needless to say, standing in line became unpleasant. We noticed that there were cast members setting up for Fantasmic! and I thought "Uh oh." I knew that if we didn't get out around the same time as my dad and sister (which I knew we weren't) it would be hard to find each other due to the show. So, we went on Pirates of the Caribbean. The addition of Jack Sparrow didn't harm the spirit of the ride. I missed the old music when you go down the waterfall the second time. I missed the old man who gives you a warning before going into the room with the ship battle. ("Perhaps ye knows too much... These be the last friendly words you hear...") Instead, Davy Jones's head is shown on what appears to be a waterfall that the boat goes under. This makes it impossible to see into the next room (the pirate battle) which I think is a good idea. The problem is that as you go underneath the "waterfall" you find it is just smoke. The smell of the smoke overpowers the classic "Pirates-of-the-Caribbean" smell I like so much. It also makes me feel like I need to cough. They added some fog to nearby rocks as you go inside. The first time I went on the ride, (earlier in the story) I got a huge blast of air coming from one of the cannons off the ship. Every time after that, I tried to get a middle seat or was more cautious on the left side of the boat. The bank that you see in front of you shows shadows sword-fighting. You can also hear some dialogue coming from the rocks nearby. Everything else is pretty much the same. Jack Sparrow appears three times. Once near the mayor in the well, once in a barrel next to a pirate with a map, and the last time as you are going up to the main level. A warning by Davy Jones is heard as you go up, but I preferred the music better.

Part 6 coming up. Will we be able to find my sister and dad in time before Fantasmic starts? Where will we go next? Will we ever get to go on Splash Mountain? Find out in the next installment!

Love the cliffhanger. When you visit WDW, you must plan to spend at day at Animal Kingdom. It's a wonderful park. It is quickly becoming a favorite of mine!

When we went to Florida, at the time, we heard that Animal Kingdom wasn't all that great, so we didn't go. From what I hear now, it got much better.

It helps to go when the weather is cooler too
The first time I went to AK it was June/July way too hot! Then I went in December and it was much better! Not only are the animals more active, but I could take time to really look around. Personally I don't consider it a "whole day" park, but a good 4 to 5 hours is plenty for me.

btw: love your trip report, I just noticed it yesterday also. Great cliffhangers :D

I don't know when I'd be able to go to Animal Kingdom when it is cool. June/July/August is when I am out for summer. I have school the rest of the year and can't go off to vacation in Florida unless I miss school. (Which I hate because you miss so much and have to make up all the work). In any case, I probably won't be able to go for several years.

Thanks! I appreciate all the comments! I think my cliffhangers are so corny. :D

even back in the day, AK was good to at least walk through. The size of the park is amazing (The size of the other 3 parks combined), and the themeing is top-notch. though, the drawback was/is that there is not alot there attraction wise. but, it has been getting better...

Magique- love the trip report story! The cliffhangers are so amusing, I mean nerve-wracking of course. Can't wait for the next installment.

Alright. On to part 6.

We got out and found my dad and sister outside the entrance to Pirates of the Caribbean. They had been told to move several times by cast members because they didn't want people in the pathways during Fantasmic. Every time a cast member came, he had to explain they were waiting for us to get off the ride. They kept moving my dad and sister to different places. (Ultimately, they just wanted to keep them moving so no one else would loiter.) Since my dad and sister had been waiting so long for us, we went on Pirates again. (This time the line was short because Fantasmic was going to start soon). By the time we got out, it was in the middle of Fantasmic. Since we were in New Orleans Square, I asked my mom if I could try a Mint Julep, something I'd heard about. There are two flavors I will just about love no matter what the food item is: mint or cherry. If any food mentions mint or cherry, I have no doubt I'll like it. So my mom said I should go and try to find it by myself while they took a bathroom break. I'd never really gone through all of the alleyways of New Orleans Square before. There are so many little avenues and shops I had never noticed before. I realized it would be an easy place to get lost if I wasn't careful.

"Will Magique get lost in the crowded maze of New Orleans Square? Will she find the Mint Julep Bar? If so, will the Mint Julep taste great, or taste so bad that she will forever boycott anything flavored mint? Discover the answers, and more... in PART SEVEN!"

Wow. I'm glad that everyone is enjoying them. I'm having fun writing about all of the crazy experiences on my trip. I'll be sad when I finish. :(

PART 7
I didn't get lost. It turns out the Mint Julep Shop is "hidden" in the very back nearby the New Orleans Train Station. After discovering its hiding place, I hurried back to my family and told them the location of the shop. My mom let me get a Mint Julep, while the rest of my family chose the less risky coffee option. I was a bit nervous to try it, since I had so much pressure on me to like it. (After all, I had been talking about trying it anytime I got the chance.) Just like what you would find in a fast-food restaurant, the Mint Julep dispenser was next to the other soft drinks. "Maybe it isn't as good as I think it will be," I thought. My parents had tried it years ago and hated it, though they aren't as fond as mint as I am. It was given to me in a clear cup with a straw. I took a deep breath and then tried a sip. My opinion of the Mint Julep: Good! The Mint Julep drink is a combination of lime and mint that is quite refreshing. I don't know if it was my determination to like the drink since I had been begging my mom for it all day, the fact that I had been walking around and was thirsty, or that it just was really good, but I enjoyed it a lot. What was nice was that Fantasmic was going on at the same time. Although we were too far in the back to see anything, we could hear it and that was enough. Sitting down at a table drinking beverages while chatting with my family was a great way to wind down and get enough energy to go on more rides! As I got down to the bottom of the drink, I was sad that it was finished already. I started to chew on the ice left at the bottom. (A habit that my parents say is bad for my teeth, but I do it anyway). One of my sisters points something out to me that I didn't realize before. "There is a cherry on the bottom." My eyes open wide. As I wrote before, there are two flavors I love most: mint and cherry. "A CHERRY?!" My mom adds, "Actually, I think there are two." I pretty much am thinking this is the best drink you could ever get in Disneyland by now. (I know, I know, excited over cherries. I'm not hard to please. ) I dug down to the bottom of the cup and savored every bite of my two cherries. By this time, Fantasmic was almost over. We threw away our trash and knew that if we didn't act fast, we would be in a crowd of Fantasmic-watchers trying to go home.

"What will Magique and her family do next? Will they be able to get out of the way before the stampede of exhausted-Fantasmic-watchers comes their way? Will Magique decide to end the tale right now and leave you all pondering what happens next? (Nah, I'm not that mean. ) FIND OUT... when we return."

However many it takes to tell my story. :D Ha ha. Well, I was trying to stretch it out to ten... but I think I will have two or so more. In my story thus far, it is around 10 pm and I am planing to talk up until the morning we left (the next day). I could also talk about my impressions of some of the rides and funny stories that I forgot to include. It all depends on what you all are willing to tolerate. (Don't worry. I'll try not to take up too much of your time).
