I just read this and am very excited too! My first trip to Disney was at age 31 in 2004 and I remember being so disappointed that I never got to see the REAL Spaceship Earth. I thought that we'd be stuck with it forever. I am thrilled that it should be gone by the time I go back on Sept 30.

I am disappointed in myself that I read all 64 reader comments after reading the article, some people bicker way too much. :(

Finally! With the rehab of SSE as well it is nice to see them turning back to the roots of the true Epcot...

Three cheers for Epcot! ::jumps up and down::

Can't wait to see the return of the original Spaceship Earth (outside at least). Perfect timing for the big 25th anniversary!

This is good. The tallest icon in the park does not need to be a sorcerer's wand that Mickey never actually had/used in the film.

Plus it will restore the architecture of Epcot back to its more symetrical look with Innoventions on either side of the sphere. Good move for the park. Though, I'm already starting to forget... is Epcot a Disney park??? :P

Oooooo. I'm looking forward to seeing what Spaceship Earth looks like without the wand! I have never seen it without. Are they going to do it at night time or what? :pluto:

This project will take some time. I think it will be hard to miss the big crane being wheeled up to the sphere to grab components of the wand. I'm sure the work will be done after park close (for safety reasons), though it will take them awhile to do it.

I just saw this... just now! I'm late!... on 2719 Hyperion, and I almost cried.

This make me SO MUCH more excited for our December trip... my wife has never seen SEE sans hand/wand/blecch.

They are kicking Nemo out of the Living Seas too?

While it's something moving it back toward it's roots. They have a ways to go. I don't hate some of the changes like Mission:space or Test Track. And I do like Turtle Talk, I just don't like the retheming of Living Seas to Nemo (put Turtle Talk into Tommorow^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^hPixarland.)

As far as the wand goes, Sorry but I'm going to wait till I SEE it with my own eyes. Or not see it as the case maybe.

Listen party pooper, no one is claiming that Epcot is made 100% whole by this change, but let's celebrate good moves!

And as for your skepticism, it is misplaced... the VP of Epcot does not get quoted in the Orlando Sentinel spreading rumor.

Cynicism kicking in - do you think they might get rid of the gravestones too?

Ok, so SSE is a good start and I'll be happy with that for now.
