Speaking about ice cream I remember at Captain Cooks, getting that huge sunday, I think it was like 24 scoops of ice cream anyone else remember that?

I recently went to California Adventure and had a Mint Express. (Mint Chocolate Chip Ice cream served in a waffle cone with oreo cookie topping, whipped cream, hot fudge, and a cherry) Delicious! :D

Ben and Jerry's used to do a flavor called Peanut Butter me up, with a Peanut Butter Caramel Core. It was awesome.

My wife's favorite thing in the whole world is Amy's Mexican Vanilla with strawberries and bananas. It's the only thing she orders there.

I was deathly ill once in college and I somehow managed to drive myself down to Amy's to get a couple of quarts of Mexican Vanilla. I fully believe that it is the greatest substance on the planet and that you can mix anything into it.

I have yet to find a flavor at Amy's that i really don't like. There are definitely some that are my favorites, love their guiness, sweet cream, and brandy alexander, but i think they're all great. I make my own ice cream at home as well, but can't get it close to as smooth and creamy as Amy's. I wish i knew her secret.

I've never heard of Amy's (we don't have them around here). We have a couple of Cold Stone's around, but I've never gotten anything from there. there's a DQ down the street that is close by and fits the wallet perfectly. we go there all the time. I like the Peanut Buster Parfaits or a Mont-Oreo Blizzard.

Amy's is a family owned business out of Austin, TX. She has expanded to one location in San Antonio, and 2 in Houston. It's very much like Marble Slab in that you order you ice cream and can get crushins. I personally think the ice cream is smoother and creamier, probably from a higher fat content in the cream, then possibly any other ice cream I've had. You know how some times you can taste the ice crystals b/c they're so big, that make the ice cream rougher, and it most likely means it was churned for too long, while the ingredients weren't cold enough. Amy's never has that feel to it, there's no grit. It's amazing! Her husband Phil also has the best burger joint in Austin, complete with mini burgers and sweet potato fries.
