Monsters Inc Laugh Floor Comedy Club drops the Comedy Club

Post by FlatlandMounty » Mar Sat 24, 2007 5:45 am

So, imagineers realized that putting "comedy club" in the title gave this attraction way too high of expectations. Of course the attraction is still sub-par at best. The funniest parts are the canned interactions between Mike and Roz. And there is a song. Pixar wanted a song! Its awful. Admittedly it is getting better, just very slowly. This attraction has a lot of good potential.

oh well, On the bright side, the Acronym for the show is MILF now.

how does eveyone else feel about this?

Edit: agreed, this does seem like it fits Studios much more. Unless they are trying to say that in the future we will have made contact with a parallel dimension we can visit for our entertainment.

I just think the name was so long with the comedy club part. Although, it does make it seem more mysterious without it. Maybe guests will now enter wanting to know exactly what it is?

Still going to give it a shot when I visit in August.

Not that it matters now, but I still feel this attraction is better suited for Disney Studios. I'd rather have a more "Tomorrowland type"attraction in that spot.

Was able to see it last Tuesday night - it's just okay for me. Sully and Boo are not in the show and aren't even mentioned - that's a big oversight in my opinion. It wasn't nearly as great as Turtle Talk - hopefully they'll tweak it a bit more.

I agree whole heartedly.

Yeah I would say they need to a least mention Sully or have Boo's voice in the background. Maybe something like this would be better:

Sully: I don't think that is that funny Mike
(Boo laughs in background)
Mike: see Boo likes it
Sully: She was laughing at the hat that guy is wearing
(Mike does a long pause, with him looking sad from the remark then suddenly looks happy and says)
Mike: On with the show

If that's the case, let's hope that people don't judge the rest of tomorrowland by the first two attractions they see and not bother with Space and the like.

...Actually... If they didn't bother with Space, that'd mean shorter lines...

...no. That'd be bad. Stop thinking that!

Andy.

They most likely changed it because people would go into the show thinking it will be laugh out loud comedy, when it really isn't. Hopefully less will be disappointed this way.

If it's open when we're down there, we'll check it out. But, with every post and article about this attraction, my expectations keep getting lower and lower.
Luckily, I enter Tomorrowland the back way, through Fantasyland, past Cosmic Ray's.

And I'm lucky I enter Tomorrowland via the Fantasyland Skyway... [sigh] Never mind.

I usually enter through the "hidden pathway" between Tomorrowland and Mickey's Toontown fair.

Well tomorrowland is the future that never was. Even buzz lightyear space ranger spin was pushing it for the themeing.

Too bad they took out timekeeper. It really did work in the theme.

I do have a problem with the acronym (MILF) as this is used over the internet for a specific type of videos. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, don't count on me for explaining)

I hope this is not an acronym that we are going to use and I certainly hope that it won't be used by Disney either.

I have a problem with the acronym, too. I can't believe that none of the imagineers ever saw American Pie.

I'm not loving the new acronym either. So just out of random curiosity, does anyone know why they got rid of Timekeeper to begin with? I thought it was relatively popular and perfectly themed for Tomorrowland. It was always a real favorite of mine.

What is the connection (officially) of the Laugh Floor to Tomorrowland?
Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.
