Sorry to hear about the cancellation. Are you sure it's canceled, and not just a mess up on the page?

I don't know anything about the E-presentations. You mentioning them was the first time I heard about them.

As for my interview, I can't remember if they had the application with them.

One of my roommates worked hospitality at Polynesian doing the front-desk check-in stuff. She was then later on was deployed around to other resorts during peak seasons. She would work 6 days a week, and her hours varied. Sometimes she would come home early in the evening, but mostly it would be late at night/early morning. English isn't her first language, so it was a bit frustrating for her at times.

I had an e-presentation for the program I did in September. It's basically like a powerpoint slideshow with a few videos in it, then it gives you a "certificate" to print to say you've done it.

Speaking of presentations/interviews... I've got one in London in a couple of weeks...

Sort of. This one is the same as the one I did in September-November 2006, but instead is from May-November 2006.

Lion, What specific question did they ask you in your interview about custodial? I've seen all these other specfic questions relating to operations and such but nothing relating to the specific custodial question.

Thanks

Good luck to you, Andy.

Um, I wish I remembered. I just remembered telling them I wanted either custodial or character attendant/greeter because I wanted guest interaction. Geez, I think I said something cheesy like it would give me a chance to work on my interpersonal skills, and I want to "give back to the guests". One of the campus reps at my school did custodial and said you do a lot of walking, chatting, and cleaning, but it's mostly independent; I mentioned that to the interviewer, and she agreed. Since, it's a bit difficult to get CP girls to choose to do custodial, I didn't think they wanted to question that, lol.

The interviewer asked my major, and I said Radio and Television- so I think that really thumbed me a place at MGM.

Thinking back on it, it didn't seem they had my application during the interview.

Hope that helps

I wonder how many people actually put custodial as their top choice on their application?

So when they see how excited I am for custodial, that I hope I get in for Custodial and not my #2 or #3 which I'm not even sure what they will be.. I work better when I'm alone and doing my own thing and I would love guest contact by help people with their questions.

Andy, are you going to be working in the UK Pavillion this time? It'd be cool to get a nice cold guinness on draft from you pal.

Beats me. I know I put that as #1. It's kinda cool telling people I worked at Disney. Then I go on to tell them I did custodial. And they're like :? Then I have to explain that it was so much more than it seems.

Everyone asks me the same thing, on what I will be doing while I'm down there and they give me the same reaction....especially my girlfriend who gives me the "why would you want to work down in disney to clean bathrooms?"

I chose my top 3 and took some notes again from the webpage because I havent read it in awhile.

1.Custodial
2.Merchendise
3.Bell Services/Dispatch

And I plan to view the presentation earlier than Spring break so I can get it done with earlier, have a better chance of getting custodial, and an earlier arrival date.

So I plan to watch the presentation sometime next week!

No, I won't be in the UK pavilion this time, either. I'll be either in Quick Service F&B again or Operations/Attractions. Not sure if there's any others in this program too, I'll find out at the presentation/interview :)

Andy and packwingfn, good luck on the interviews. I hope you both end up where you want to be. It's so fun to read about college adventures while working at Disney!

I just submitted my application. Printed everything. Now I plan to watch the E-Presentation sometime this weekend, then call to schedule my phone interview, I wonder how leniant they are with the phone interviews, I would love to have my phone interview on next friday since I have no classes and don't have to work so it would be the most relaxing day for me.
