Well today was fun :)

I managed to visit all four parks, including riding everest for the first time :)

We didn't intend to go to all four theme parks.. we started in Animal Kingdom and decided to go to Disney-MGM Studios since the person I was with wanted to see one of the shows there, which we did. We then decided to take the boat to Epcot and have a couple of rides there before getting the monorail to the Magic Kingdom to see if we could find any of our friends working :)

You may be interested to know that the "magic mirror" that was on the front of Cinderella Castle was removed last night. The castle now looks like it was originally intended to again :) I would've taken a photo of it, but it was getting dark and given my track record for nighttime photos I didn't bother ;)

Plus there were people *everywhere* waiting for Spectromagic by the time we got there. I'll take one next time I'm over there for you, although one'll probably appear somewhere else before then.

Well, I'm now off to bed since I've got to be at work at 9am tomorrow :)

Andy. Now complete with a Pal Mickey :)

4 parks in 1 day swweeeeet. Park hopping is one of my fav things to do. You can get a whole bunch of magic crammed into one day!

Don't ask why I was doing this at 6am this morning, but anyway..

My site now has videos, thanks to YouTube. See http://www.andrewpoole.org.uk/disney/videos/

And with that, I'm going to start getting ready for work. :)

WOOOOOHOOOOO! That is VERY GOOD NEWS!
I'm a purist when it comes to the WDW castle. I HATE IT when they "Dress it Up" It's elegant as it is... Why mess with perfection? Leave it alone! ;)
"Hey, Look at that guy in the Goofy Mask!" "That's not a mask!" "Oh... Sorry Lady!"

I'm also very glad to hear that the mirror is gone. I have to say that I like when the dress up the castles. It helps you place old photos in time...and then there's always the sigh of relief when everything looks as it should again.

As long as the original eventually comes back, I think sprucing up various things is a nice touch. The holiday versions of it's a small world and the Mansions are good examples of pleasing both old skool Disney nerds and keeping things fresh.

I just hate the changes where they permanently destroy things, particularly in WDW, where there's so much space that flattening things is really an insult.

Haha. I thought the castle images were a little redudant because from far away, you can't really tell the difference. Tokyo's castles looks like WDW, and HKs looks like DLRs.

But I did like all the golden characters on it. I thought it looked nice.

Park Hopping is fun! Especially if you miss something and just say, "oh well, next week maybe."

(for the curious, some prat in a plane had written "U + GOD = :)" in the sky above Cinderella Castle as well as something else that I couldn't make out at the time.)

I just got chills watching your Wishes video. On the last trip in August, I watched it from Fantasyland and it was real good watching fireworks come from all around you but I must admit that being on Main Street defnitely has the "it" factor.

I can't wait until I go again in January :)

And yes the castle looks great now.

On the night I took those photos (Saturday), I didn't stay in the park for more than about 20 minutes.. I only went to MK to take those photos and to see if I could find any of my friends working there (of which I did find *one*). Shortly after taking those photos I made my way out of MK as quick as I could before Spectromagic started and went over to Epcot to watch IllumiNations :)

Andy. Off to work in a couple of hours...

Well I just returned from a morning at the Magic Kingdom. The crane that's been hiding behind Cinderella Castle for the last couple of weeks was extended today and people were doing something on the castle. There was also a bunch of imagineers in Tomorrowland, however I couldn't see what they were doing. As well as all this, there was a film crew on Main Street filming something, although I couldn't work out what.

I've put a few photos here: http://www.andrewpoole.org.uk/disney/photos/mk5/

Cheers,

Andy.

I for one am glad the castle is back to normal. I sure don't like the look of the crane hanging around. I would be so upset if I was on my first visit to the MK and saw the crane. Definitely takes some of the magic away!
