What do you all think of this racial division of tribes on the new Survivor show?

I think it equals they are running out of ideas to spice up the show.

So having an idea to spice up the show is akin to running out of ideas to spice up the show?

Would you have preferred a seemingly-random split like previous seasons?

I don't watch the show so I don't personally care, but I think it's a neat idea and I applaud the producers/creators for taking a chance in our ultra-P.C. times where it seems any mention of "race" draws a chorus of boos from every corner of society.

I agree with you Spaulo. I too do not watch it cause I am not a fan of reality TV, except Treasure Hunters which did spark my attention due to the historic sites and information it had on there.

I think it's a good idea. I just hope they don't sterotype it into a racial thing and just keep it what it is a reality TV show.

Ive been in marketing classes, from a very good professor worked for P&G and created Mr. Whipple, amoung other things. So I know how this "reality" TV works as you can see with any of the shows, IE realworld they stick a person that is rather racial insensative with a minority, I mean comeon 8 people out of what 10 seasons, and its always the same, one firestarter, I mean I was with a group of 70 people 4 days a week for 17 weeks and we never had a problem. It makes for good tv I guess, but its far from "reality"

I agree with the netflix. I get movies from there every other day or so. it helps me figure out what movies/TV shows I want to buy.

as far as these "reality shows" like survivor/amazing race, etc - I don;t watch them. I find there's way too many commercials on regular broadcast/cable TV for my tastes. I'll stick to my movie channels

Its funny true reality TV would probably be quite boring, because 90% of the time people get along pretty well.

While I don't watch Survivor, my fiancee and I are hooked on some "reality" shows... mostly Flavor of Love, Hogan Knows Best, Dog the Bounty Hunter, Project Runway, Hell's Kitchen, and Million Dollar Listing.

Hell's kitchen is the only show I'll watch on regular TV. I went to culinary school for pastry arts (I'm a certified pastry chef), so I know what the lifestyle is like. I even put in for the casting they're doing for the third season... :D

Well, it wasn't nearly as scandalous as the previews would have made it out to be. Seemed actually quite routine.
