Those are all great. Where do you get most of these? Design them yourselves or is there a website you go to for downloads? Mine is just a pic of Mickey & the gang, it's not even a full screen, only smack dab in the middle. I wish I was a techie

Thanks SpaceyMounty. And bostoncg, while I can't speak for anyone else, the picture on my desktop is one I took myself. You can see all my WDW pics at http://www.flickr.com/photos/spaulo/sets/1622354/

It's always fun to see topics like this rekindled. Inspires me to make another SR wallpaper.

Oh my god, knedeau, you have too many things in your quick launch menu!
Heheheh, I just read what you Wrote Sub! As a webperson... sadly, I USE THEM ALL! Anyway, I hardly ever have to go through start -> Programs -> Blah blah!
ugh.. Too many browsers to test pages on!

OH! Bostoncg Google Images can be your BEST friend!
  • 1. Go to google.com
    2. Click on 'Images' above the search bar
    3. Search whatever Disney subject you'd like (it's better to search for LARGE Images)
When the list appears, go the the page, right-click your mouse over the image, and choose "save image as"
Now the Image is yours to use as a background! There are also people on this forum who are also in the Boston Area who would be happy to give you a hand with custom images for your computer too! ;)
"Hey, Look at that guy in the Goofy Mask!" "That's not a mask!" "Oh... Sorry Lady!"

Heheh, give me Flash MX, Photoshop, and Notepad++... all I ever use to make sites for work or play.

To be honest, to cover the vast majority of broswer market share out there, and to cover the major inconsistencies, you need Firefox 1.5, IE 6.0, and a way to test on Safari on the Mac. Very few people use older versions of IE, FF1.5 and 1.0 are close enough in their rendering, Camino on Mac uses the essentially-same Gecko rendering engine as FF, and if someone is using IEMac, you probably don't want them stopping by your site anyway ;-)

OK, kidding on that last part, but the browser market share is small for IEMac...

So... have around a copy of Firefox, your Windows-built-in copy of IE, and this site:

http://www.snugtech.com/safaritest/

It'll give you a screenshot of what any page looks like when rendered by Safari on a Mac.

If you absolutely have to go a step further, keep around a copy of IE5.5... but really, two browsers and that page will cover like 95-98% of the websurfing world.

Just a tip from one web designer to another.

Everyone else, carry on.

I just took a screenshot of my mac's desktop, sent it to my email and then set it as the background on my PC. When I hide the program bar at the bottom and hide the windows, it always confuses people who see it. It really can fake you out for a second.
