Bdude and I love MVMCP but we've been several times and I agree, not worth all the extra $$$! On our last trip, bdude asked if I was positive I didn't want to attend MVMCP, I told him I'm not paying all that extra money for watered down hot chocolate and a parade! I do love the snow on Main St and there is a Magical feel, but once you've done it a few times, it's a lot of extra cash to put out. Osborne is awesome b/c you can just wander around and enjoy, no extra admission! I really think it will be a shame if Disney does away with this.Amy wrote:The Osborne Lights are a big draw for us as well. We only attended one Christmas party and that is because we got free tickets to it ~ not worth the extra expense to us otherwise.boilerbabe wrote:I understand what you're saying NaCler, we plan to go around Christmas time specifically for the Osborne Lights! We don't do the Candlelight Processional or really travel around the resorts to look at displays. We don't do MVMCP either, too pricey! We're not AP holders or DVC members.
I was just surprised to hear that Osborne Lights could possibly be no more?!

Re: Disney Hollywood Studios Expansion Rumored
ok, I just read the past 2 pages of posts. First, The lights have been moved once already, so moving them again shouldn't be an issue. They used to be on residential Street about 10 years ago or so. Second. Osbourne Lights are only a small part of the year, where a Star Wars expansion will surely produce more revenue for the park. Plus, you may not be a fan of Star Wras, but that doesn't mean you won't like the attractions that are put in. I know people that don't care for Aerosmith, but RR is their favorite ride in all of WDW! Ya never know what you're going to like. lol

I agree with what you're saying yodiwan, but I know I won't like it if they get rid of Osborne Lights

I'm sure I will like the Mos Eisley Cantina (or whatever it is called) or any Star Wars attraction they add. But, I will like it even more if it is covered in Osborne Lights at the end of the year!

I don't care what they do, as long as they don't get rid of the Osborne Lights!

Inside sources have stated that CMs have been given notice that the Beauty & Beast show will have its final curtain at the end of Spring in 2014. There appears to be no plans to replace the show at this time. Also, this picture was taken a couple days ago of the Backlot Tour trams being left in a grassy area. It looks like backlot tour is coming to an end soon but there is no timetable.

Thanks for the update cardinals! I am surprised they're going to end the Beauty and the Beast show! We've still never seen it. Maybe on this next trip?! I'm sad to see the Backlot Tour trams left out to rot...it's not what it used to be, but wish they would update it.

If you liked the Beauty and the Beast movie, it really is a nice little show. Especially with them stopping it next year, it is worth your time to see. You can always bundle it together with Fantasmic ~ the show times line up pretty well to see the Beauty and the Beast stage show and then filter directly over to the Fantasmic amphitheaterboilerbabe wrote:Thanks for the update cardinals! Re: Disney Hollywood Studios Expansion Rumored
One of the reasons they probably can't update is that there is such a heavy reliance on CG (even in non-effects driven films) there wouldn't be much to show on a tour. That and rolling past static props/sets isn't as entertaining as it was in the 80'sboilerbabe wrote:Thanks for the update cardinals! I am surprised they're going to end the Beauty and the Beast show!
