Re: New Stream! Tangaroa Terrace
Yesterland is run by others. They need time to get it re-set back up. It'll come back eventually.
1978: WDW MK, River Country -- Fort Wilderness
1985: WDW MK, EPCOT, River Country -- Polynesian
2011: DLR, DCA (one day)
2012: WDW Poly (one evening)
All of that, and part of me is still there.

Re: New Stream! Tangaroa Terrace
For all of you Tahitian dancers, A quick update about the Tangaroa stream, as well as the Dole Whip stream.
One of the sources for the music, a CD called "Chants et Dances de Tahiti" has been difficult to acquire. One pressing of the CD was $50 on Amazon (it's a rare disc, small pressing, out of print for many, many years.) The best I could source (other than dropping $50 on the disc, which is quite frankly, rediculous) was some midrange bitrate MP3 files. Well... This has changed.
There is a second pressing of the disc, under a different name "Drum Beats of the Pacific" (volume 1), which I just found used for $5. Shipped.
I just received it and replaced the 96k versions of the tracks with 256k versions. (granted, it's a 96k stream so this improvement is moot) They also have start/endpoint edits that are finally correct, so there's no more sudden starts or stops to the songs. There also was a mistake in the previous version of the playlist, in which the order of two of the tracks were swapped. All of this is corrected, and I feel as though this is the ultimate version of this playlist.
I know that none of you care about this... at all... But I wanted to share the love, and my love for the music.
This album (and the Tangaroa playlist) have also been added to the Dole-Whip stream in their entirety. (And the previous versions removed)
In other news:
I have all of the tracks, as far as I know, for the pre-1995 Polynesian Area Loop, although I'm not sure what do do with them yet. I have also started gathering the tracks for the post-2010 Polynesian Area Loop as well.

Thanks BleuLlama ~ I think there are several who care, and appreciate your generosity! I'm not a big fan of the Poly music, but I do appreciate the dedication you have shown in making that stream the best it can be Well done finding a CD for only $5 instead of $50 too!

Re: New Stream! Tangaroa Terrace
Okay everyone... I need to get your opinions on this;
Tangaroa is 1995-2010 at the polynesian, as accurate as possible, (although in higher quality than they broadcasted on the grounds)
What are your opinions about the pre-1995 playlist, and the post 2010 playlist?
Should Tangaroa stream remain with the 17 tracks on it, and that's it? Should there be special time blocks that cover the other playlists? Should they be certain hour blocks, or day blocks? Should I relegate those back over to the Dole Whip channel instead?
eg, one solution: Tangaroa gets "flashback fridays" -- All day friday, it's the pre-1995 music. and "twothousands tuesdays" -- all day tuesday, it's the post-2010 loop
another: Tangaroa gets "mixup hours". From noon to 4pm, it's either pre-1995, or post-2010
another: Tangaroa stays as-is, but the "mixup hours" moves to Dole Whip
another: Tangaroa gets "mixup hours" but the blocks of time (or days) cover *ALL* of the playlist years (pre-1995, 1995-2010, 2010+) on shuffle. no order.
I'm willing to discuss any of these or any other ideas y'all might have. Thoughts?
(do note, that I do not have the +2010 loop yet)

Re: New Stream! Tangaroa Terrace
I would vote for the mix up hours on Tangaroa, not shuffled. Maybe Mon Wed Fri in the morning, Tues Thur in the afternoon and evenings on the weekends

Re: New Stream! Tangaroa Terrace
Due to confusion with time zones and trying to say that the stream will be doing certain things at certain times... I've come up with the solution (for now anyway)
I'd like to introduce "Wayback Wednesdays"! (thanks to Bullwinkle for the name suggestion!)
Wednesdays (WDW Timezone), the Tangaroa stream will play just the music heard in the Pre-1995 change (from what i've been able to learn anyway). This consists of a handful of Benjamin Rogers instrumental pieces. (All of which are available through Amazon and iTunes if you wish to purchase them.
This will start tomorrow. (approx 11hrs from right now).
Enjoy!

Re: New Stream! Tangaroa Terrace
Has the playlist for Tangaroa recently changed? I'm hearing some stuff I have not heard before and missing some of my favorites? Plus it seems to be on a shorter loop (songs repeating more frequently).

Loving this Tangaroa stream. Close my eyes and I'm sitting at Kona Cafe...
