Hrm, nasty 2 day migraine before vacation. Better than during I suppose, but I'm now behind on all my packing and shopping. Needed to buy new shorts...oh well, guess I'll slum it in the old ones that are too big. Just need to remember to pack a belt or two.

Meh, I only wear shorts on vacation in Florida (or other warm locales) anyways. Usually too chilly for them where I am. I packed an extra sundress though. It's supposed to get up to a horrid 78 degrees while I'm there! The horror the horror!

I gather its been a bit frosty in your neighborhood, but the weather's been nice here in my great state. But just in case, don't pack all shorts. Bring a jacket to be safe. One thing about Florida winters is that they can be unpredictable and capable of almost literally instantaneous change...

Oh yeah, I remember one January trip back when we camped at Fort Wilderness: first few days were clear and sunny and 78 degrees of perfection. Then overnight a cold front blew down with fury from Canada and flash froze the blooming roses. Made for gorgeous photography (I'll dig search through the photos Dad has been scanning and post them), but posed a clothing problem.

Thankfully, the general store was able to pull out some winter wear and sold it at a huge discount so we campers didn't freeze.

I live in one of California's famous micro-climates. Typically the high hovers around 68 degrees year round. We get a few days of 95 degrees in October and we all whinge non stop for 48 hours until the temp drops and then we remember how lucky we are to live here. So for me, 75 degrees will feel slightly warm but at least there is almost always a breeze in Florida.

Catching my flight out of Santa Barbara this afternoon!!!

Spending 9 days at the BLT and driving down to check out Vero Beach for one day.
Every thing has been planed and reservations complete.

Hooray! Sounds like you have a good start to your vacation. Do you have DVC points yourself, or did you rent them from someone?

Hey Amy
We became Proud Owners of of the DVC at SSR back in 2005. Up to now we have not stayed at SSR.
We have Stayed at the Beach Club, Boardwalk and Bay Lake Tower. We like every one of these Resorts but we like the BLT much more.
We have rented out our points a few times and it was a smooth transaction.
As you can tell we have been bitten by the Disney Bug.

Do you think you will stay at Saratoga Springs ever? Is that unusual not to have ever stayed at your "home" DVC resort? I know someone that stayed at BLT and they said it was very nice! They were lucky enough to stay there shortly after it opened so everything was brand new

I think someday we will stay at SSR. I have two Darling Daughters and the both like staying at the Monorail Resorts. Maybe if my wife and I ever go by ourselves we will give it a try. Last year we took the bus over and received a nice welcome and a tour of the resort. Although we liked the resort it was a little far from the action. My Favorite resort is the Poly. We have been very fortunate to have stayed there. That was before coming DVC members. I am hoping that the Poly will become the next DVC resort.
