The only two places I will ever need to be are Manhattan and Disney World.

Have you ever been there at 6 pm? Its so cool when the staff does the hustle. I love it. In the morning they dance the twist.
In 2006 they also had a great cheesecake with Chocolate and little marshmallows but they dont have it on the menu anymore

I've stayed at most of the resorts, but I love Wilderness Lodge and the Poly. WL is relaxing and seems like a world away from the parks. Poly is great for the monorail access and beaches and it's almost as good as being in Hawaii!

I assume you bought resale. Through whom/where did you make your purchase?momeja wrote:Great choice! And resale is way cheaper than buying new, too. We've owned at the Beach Club for 3 years now, and we haven't ever regretted our decision. It's a great resort.stinoi wrote:If we ever buy into DVC, it will be at the Beach Club.

Hmmm.. Haven't done all of the resorts, but getting close to it.
Stayed at:
Value: all of the All Stars and Pop Century
Moderate: CBR, Coronado, POR, POFQ
Deluxe: GF, Poly (when I was really young apparently), Contemp, AKL, Yacht and Beach
I really want to stay @ Boardwalk, Saratoga, Old Key West, Swan & Dolphin, and Wilderness Lodge.
Right now, my favorite is the Yacht/Beach due to scenery and location. I love the theming of AKL, but it's just too far from everything for my taste.

NaCler did you stay at Poly when 'Ohana was a fairly fancy, sit-down restaurant? Before it was "family style" grill stuff... I was there in 1980 and remember a rather fancy dinner, and my sister, mom, and I were given orchids to wear behind our ears - one side meant your heart was taken, the other side meant it was not. I forget which was which.NaCler wrote:Hmmm.. Haven't done all of the resorts, but getting close to it.

I've stayed at Saratoga - we had a grand villa in 2010 when my parents blew a bunch of our inheritance and took us all for a big family trip. It's nice but I wouldn't say it's spectacular. Definitely quiet. Nicely decorated. I've never been to upstate New York so I can't comment on the theming but I can say it was pretty formal and didn't feel really DISNEY-fied. Dont' know if that makes sense or not but I think you all get my drift.
Having a hard time being articulate today. Maybe it's DST, maybe I need more coffee...

I've only stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge (I live less than an hour away, so staying in a resort is not always on my mind
), but my favorite is the Boardwalk because it's beautiful!

All time favorite is Old Key West. We love the atmosphere, food, music... And it's so relaxing.

My favorite for sure is the Caribbean Beach Resort. I love that there are several different areas you can stay in (Aruba, Jamaica, etc.) and each area has buildings that are painted different, bright colors. I also love the beaches. The atmosphere is just cheerful and fun.

We stayed there once, or twice. It really is a beautiful resort. I liked the massive turtles in the pond there!junebug1233 wrote:My favorite for sure is the Caribbean Beach Resort. We stayed there too, and it was great! But, I do have a story.junebug1233 wrote:My favorite for sure is the Caribbean Beach Resort. My wife and I were living in Orlando at the time and were celebrating our anniversary, so I booked a one-night stay just for something different. That night, about 3 AM, we wake up when the fire alarm starts blaring. We stumble out of bed and throw on some shoes and go outside. Then, we notice we're the only ones outside. No one else's alarm is going off. There are no firetrucks, staff, or anything. It's just our room.
So after waiting for about 10 minutes, I walk back inside and call the front desk to tell them about the alarm. Within a minute, we had all manner of Disney staff coming from everywhere! As it turns out, our detector went defective. They replaced it and were very apologetic and gracious to us. The manager told us they would comp the room for the night.
Since we were only staying that one night, I get to tell everyone that Disney let us stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort for free!
Hoping to go back to the Magic soon.

Wow that is funny now of course but I'm sure going through it was a little crazy. We've never stayed at Caribbean Beach but my brother did and told me it's a lot of walking. Is this due to maybe his location or in general there is a lot of walking? I'm guessing he means from your room to the main area. Is there only one main bus station at this resort or several?BenB wrote:We stayed there too, and it was great!
